Summary

Trump dismissed concerns about Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying Americans should focus on domestic issues instead.

His comments followed criticism from former national security adviser H.R. McMaster, who accused Trump of “coddling” Putin after berating Ukraine’s Zelensky.

Trump falsely claimed he was the only president who didn’t “give” Ukrainian land to Russia. European leaders, alarmed by his stance, are working on a ceasefire plan to present to him.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin praised Trump’s foreign policy, and GOP leaders increasingly support his approach to Russia.

Correct. Americans should focus their concerns on our fascist, racist, kleptocratic president. They should be concerned about how that self-serving huckster is dismantling the administrative state in an effort to enrich himself and his oligarch colleagues at our expense. They should be concerned about how that cowardly demagogue is undermining democracy itself to insulate himself from the rule of law. They should also be concerned about how that dishonest fool is weakening us, and making us and our allies less safe in the long term by capitulating to militaristic authoritarians like Putin.

They're the same picture. People are worrying about and talking about Putin more now because of Trump.

Putting himself before the country, as all presidents do.

/s for the sitouts feeling voters' remorse.

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 57 points 2 days ago

This means that Americans should be especially concerned about Putin.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 38 points 2 days ago

Sounds like something a guy working for Putin would say.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 20 points 2 days ago

We didn't have to have this level of concern about Putin under Biden, nor would we have under Kamala, but because of a whole lot of bothsiderist chinwagging, we are supposed to pretend KamalaJustAsBad, I guess, and surely we would have had to have this level of concern under her. Or if Biden had continued in his bid, because BidenSoOld, he would have been just as bad as this, too....

🤦‍♂️

“Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!”

[–] Sterile_Technique@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago

Trump really shouldn't talk about his president like that...

[–] fox2263@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

Trump should spend more time worrying about actual issues instead of the names of bodies of water and mountains and the water pressure in his toilet.

[–] sittinonatoilet@sopuli.xyz 14 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Don’t you worry about Putin, let me worry about blank.

[–] Nasan@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 day ago

Blank? Blank?! You're not looking at the big picture!

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago

Currently taking bets on how long until the New Order starts sending military support to Russia. One month? One week? It's already started?

[–] painfulasterisk1@lemmy.ml 9 points 1 day ago

Ha! I just read that title as, I should worry even more.

[–] JustZ@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago

[–] sun_is_ra@sh.itjust.works 11 points 2 days ago

[–] BetaBlake@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

[–] DaddleDew@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

They weren't. Putin was having his ass kicked. NATO was at its strongest and keeping him at bay.

Now the world is worrying he might invade Europe.

[–] taanegl@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago
