Europol's latest organized crime threat assessment predicts that online piracy services will face a drop in demand. This conclusion appears to rely on data that's already five years old and predates the EU streaming boom. Can old statistics accurately reflect today's piracy trends? Not necessarily, as newer data suggest a significant reversal.

For a while I found it easier to legitimately stream what I wanted to watch. Then the fuckers got greedy and upped the price, split content into dozens of different platforms, stuck adverts in, and made it harder to access. Now it's easier and more pleasant to just pirate it again. Well done studios, you could have had a good thing but you fucked it.

Streaming, the new cable - but worse.

Same, I didn’t mind have 2-3 services when they were different. Now they’re just all the same thing and even link to each other. If I have to log into Hulu, Disney, and prime to watch shit we’re just back at cable.

If buying doesn’t equal owning then piracy isn’t stealing too. The fact they can revoke purchases means it’s free game now. They’re the ones that started this.
