Summary

Elon Musk, after spending $21 million backing conservative Brad Schimel in Wisconsin’s Supreme Court race, amplified election fraud claims following Schimel’s loss to liberal judge Susan Crawford.

Musk boosted a post by Alex Jones featuring Roger Stone, who alleged mail-in vote fraud. Schimel rejected the claims, urging supporters to accept the results.

Musk pivoted to highlighting a voter ID ballot measure, though Wisconsin already requires ID. Critics see his reaction as echoing Trump-era denialism.

Despite GOP pressure, Schimel’s concession stood out for its rare break from MAGA conspiracy rhetoric.

he payed for that election fair and square!!!

[–] Tryenjer@lemmy.world 4 points 1 hour ago

Poor Musk was robbed, he was promised that if he paid generously, the election result would be guaranteed. In the end he was cheated, it's unfair. Cry, Cry, crocodile tears. 😭

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 16 points 9 hours ago

I want to know why anyone still uses that shitty Nazi site he bought.

[–] Wilco@lemm.ee 34 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

How can this man walk freely on the street? He would get shanked in prison and those dudes have to make knives with toothbrushes and other garbage.

This idiot just walks around and no one shoots their shot.

[–] TranscendentalEmpire@lemm.ee 19 points 15 hours ago

Well, I mean he had an entire security detail deputized by the US Marshalls....so it's not like he's just walking out in the open. The guy surrounds himself with sycophants and other billionaires, it's the only way to completely isolate yourself from reality.

I don't think he's really made an actual public appearance since being booed on stage at that chapel show, and that was by people going to see an unfunny transphobe.

[–] WrenFeathers@lemmy.world 7 points 11 hours ago

I guess maybe? Since technically, he did buy it, right? But this is sort of like calling the cops because someone stole your heroin, isn’t it??

[–] 2ugly2live@lemmy.world 31 points 16 hours ago (2 children)

YOU LITERALLY BOUGHT VOTES

[–] WindyRebel@lemmy.world 9 points 10 hours ago

…Which is why he thinks it’s rigged…

[–] Zess@lemmy.world 23 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

He's been able to get whatever he wants by throwing money at it his whole life, so when it doesn't work he automatically cries foul.

[–] AngryRobot@lemmy.world 16 points 14 hours ago

Exactly like Trump.

[–] billiam0202@lemmy.world 194 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago) (3 children)

Oh look, Conservatives sowing more doubt and mistrust because they can't handle it when faced with how unpopular they are.

Quelle surprise.

[–] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 49 points 22 hours ago (3 children)

Sowing like planting seeds not sewing like creating a garment

But now that I think about it they both kinda work... sewing the threads of lies.

[–] billiam0202@lemmy.world 19 points 21 hours ago

You know, I looked at that and knew it looked wrong but brain couldn't figure out why.

Thanks!

[–] Bonesince1997@lemmy.world 8 points 18 hours ago

Instead of a seamstress, we've got a memestress.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 6 points 21 hours ago (2 children)

Also not sure what it means to quelle surprise.

[–] bradv@lemmy.ca 22 points 21 hours ago

It's French for what a surprise

[–] ironhydroxide@sh.itjust.works 6 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

I also have no clue. Though Quelle in German is a spring, or source.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 1 points 3 hours ago

Yes I’m familiar with the German word Quelle. All bottled carbonated water in Germany seems to come from one Quelle or another.

I’m thinking they were going for the English word “quell”?

quell /kwĕl/

transitive verb

  1. To put down forcibly; suppress.

    "Police quelled the riot."

  2. To pacify; quiet.

    "finally quelled the children's fears."

  3. To take the life of; to kill.
    Similar: kill

Perhaps some leading election deniers are motivated by a psychological defense mechanism, but I think that many realize the strategic benefit. The members of the public who are convinced that Democrats steal elections will vote Republican. They'll also be more willing to accept a Republican refusing to leave office after losing an election, if things come to that.

[–] al_Kaholic@lemmynsfw.com 9 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

Anyone voting Republican after 2017 is a lost cause. No matter what happens they are voting R. Save your breath and sympathy.

[–] kipo@lemm.ee 3 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago) (1 children)

I disagree. While I will never forgive those voters, I don't think most of them are lost causes. They've been manipulated by the largest, most well-funded misinformation and propaganda campaign ever waged against the American people.

Exercising even the smallest amount of critical thinking skills protects oneself against most of it, but no one is completely immune to misinformation.

[–] al_Kaholic@lemmynsfw.com 1 points 14 hours ago

Sure buddy I'm sum it up for you. "Two Trump Elections." But keep turning the other cheek. This time Lucy won't pull the football. She promised. 🙄

Nah, of course not

We all knew immediately after her win that this was the next step. First try to cheat, if that doesn't work, lie about the other cheating to get what you want.

Elmo is a mysigenic sociopathic narcissist sho actively destroys and ends lives.

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 17 points 16 hours ago

Musk = POS Nazi.

[–] wirebeads@lemmy.ca 34 points 19 hours ago

Everything is stolen when your a South African Nazi fascist who was unable to buy the vote they wanted.

Hey F’Elon; how about returning those billions of dollars you’ve stolen from the U.S. government (and many other governments) over the past decade.

Fuck you Elon 🖕

[–] Clent@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 16 hours ago

A bit?

Don't undersell the oligarch's image. He's worked hard to earn.

The only work he's personally performed these past decades.

[–] A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world 72 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago) (1 children)

"I WASNT ABLE TO BUY THIS ELECTION DESPITE MY VAST WEALTH, SO OBVIOUSLY SOMEONE ELSE BOUGHT THIS ELECTION AND STOLE IT WITH THEIR VAST WEALTH, ITS THE ONLY CONCEIVABLE REASON WHY I COULD POSSIBLY LOSE!"

[–] Clent@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 16 hours ago

He's salty because he got outbid. Damned eBay snipers.

[–] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 65 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Musk boosted a post by Alex Jones featuring Roger Stone

It's like a who's who of absolutely garbage people.

[–] meyotch@slrpnk.net 8 points 18 hours ago

Roy Cohn was also consulted by seance.

[–] zbyte64@awful.systems 40 points 22 hours ago

Elon, this isn't an auction you disphit

[–] just_another_person@lemmy.world 32 points 22 hours ago

Your attempts to steal an election were subverted and now you're complaining. Fucking GOLD.

This is a guy who wants to blame the world for his botched gender affirmation surgery that left him with a mangled useless sex organ.

No wonder he hates trans people so much.

No wonder he has so many ivf babies with multiple women.

No wonder he wants to experiment on unwilling human subjects in El Salvador until he can get the neuralink chip to work (he wants to be able to push a button to get off. He has been waiting years for his tantric release. There is no other way)

No wonder he’s so rich yet seems so unhappy.

botched gender affirmation surgery that left him with a mangled useless sex organ

I keep hearing this around here. Is there any actual reason to think it's true?

Even if the bit about the surgery is true, it's a very reductive explanation of issues which clearly aren't new in his life. He was brought up by far-right parents and his father apparently showed him no love. He has been poisonously insecure all his life, only now he has the power to inflict his psychological troubles on the world. Ever since he got financially lucky in the 1990s, he has had the money to buy influence and pay people to do what he wants, so he has never become equipped to deal with people as equals and has all kinds of issues and insecurities around power. He discovered early that, while he had trouble making friends, he could make an impression on people by being edgy and controversial, and has never managed to move beyond this into a more mature persona.

I feel like saying "it's all because of his wonky penis" trivializes how profoundly this man's life has messed him up, and how many complex factors are at work in his psyche. It also implicitly insults anyone else who doesn't have "normal" genitalia.

[–] Yerbouti@sh.itjust.works 16 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

how profoundly this man’s life has messed him up, and how many complex factors are at work in his psyche.

Why should we give a single fuck? This guy lies, cheat and sayd himself he thinks empathy is a weakness. Why should have any towards him. He calls everyone he disagree losers, called my prime minister "girl" and openly makes nazi salutes, and you want us to play the "Tell me about chilhood Elon" card? He's a little narcissist privilege bitch who's been exploiting people all his life, and I will be happy to take a piss on his grave. And I have no doubt the size of his dick (it's obviously tiny) is one of the reasons he want's to make the world suffer.

[–] ploot@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago) (1 children)

It's not that I feel any particular sympathy for Elon Musk. But I'm sure there are lots of people living with small dicks who don't experience any need to become crazy Nazis, and lots of crazy Nazis with sizeable penises. I just feel this whole "a man needs a big dick to be secure, and any insecure man has a small dick" thing is a somewhat offensive outlook.

[–] Yerbouti@sh.itjust.works 7 points 20 hours ago

The reason to make fun of his dick size is because that's one of the only way that we can get to him. This guys controls half of the planet, the only thing we have is to make fun of him on social networks. You can call him a racist pos, transphobe, hateful, he actually takes prides into this. But call him a small dick and you just know he will spent the night convincing himself he as the biggest dick on the planet. Just like Donald the pedo and crowd size.

I'm sure a lot a men with small dicks are perfectly happy and secure about themselves, because they don't live in a superficial privilege bubble, just like lots of men rock their grey hairs and balding. But you got to admit Musk screams insecurity so it's totally fine to assume the size of dick is something he thinks about all the time.

The only way we can be sure is to inspect the genitals.

Prove there is a penis that can get an erection.

Otherwise “he” might be using the WRONG BATHROOM!!!!!!!

He thinks it's "stolen" because he also thought he had bought it and thus owned it.

[–] Wiz@midwest.social 2 points 11 hours ago

He still has his receipts! But there's a no-return policy for purchased elections.

[–] chilldrivenspade@lemmy.world 2 points 15 hours ago

Alex Jones and Roger Stone, two stand up guys if I’ve ever heard of any!

[–] AllNewTypeFace@leminal.space 9 points 21 hours ago

With the right, it’s. Always. Projection.

[–] Yerbouti@sh.itjust.works 8 points 21 hours ago (2 children)

At this point, I don't see how we can ever trust conservative again. They kept showing they won't play by any rules, they are willing to lie, cheat and manipulate to get what they want. The left needs to radicalize his actions, you cannot negotiate with cheaters.
