Out of everything the most depressing is Klarna. It's a buy now pay later microloans that should just be forbidden.

"Wtf is TEMU?"

Oh...

Also, wtf is MA IMA?

Yeah, what's up with Latvia? Why would people mass-download a grocery store app? Besides, iki is better. At least it was 10 years ago. Do they still have iki?

[–] De_Narm@lemmy.world 90 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

That's depressing as fuck.

[–] Cherry@piefed.social 21 points 6 hours ago

I know. Cheap crap is a stain.

The Netherlands continues to be my top choice for a place to live if I end up fleeing my country. If they'll have me.

I'm sure a lot of us here can say that's the only one on the map we have

[–] huppakee@lemm.ee 5 points 6 hours ago

Surprised me though, although temu probably would've surprised me more

Swedish fintech for online payments. A lot of young people go into debts with their "shop now, buy later" function

[–] absquatulate@lemmy.world 41 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Loving Bulgaria. Everybody's doing social networks, meanwhile they're "ooh, a puzzle game!"

[–] FireRetardant@lemmy.world 27 points 6 hours ago

Temu is more like a capitalism network than a social network, but yeah Chad Bulgaria playing tetris instead of giving into consumerism.

People really use temu? I thought it was all crap.

Edit:

[–] smeg@feddit.uk 17 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

This is most downloaded not most used, so I'd reckon a lot of people heard about it, downloaded it, used it, realised it was all crap, then deleted it.

[–] Thorry84@feddit.nl 7 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

People would rather download the app to figure that out than just visit the website? That's still depressing.

But probably temu was like get 50% off your first order via the app or something like that?

people like "saving" money

[–] match@pawb.social 2 points 5 hours ago (2 children)

It is crap but everything in stores in the US is crap too, and Temu crap is merely half the quality for a tenth the price

[–] ramenshaman@lemmy.world 6 points 3 hours ago

everything in stores in the US is crap too

You might be going to the wrong stores

[–] Zorque@lemmy.world 7 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

I don't think I see US in this map at all...

[–] match@pawb.social 4 points 4 hours ago

well personally, i cannot speak for the EU - have consumer goods turned to crap over there?

[–] MemmingenFan923@feddit.org 19 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago) (2 children)

Only Netherland and Bulgaria can be proud of themselves.

[–] huppakee@lemm.ee 16 points 5 hours ago

Nobody can be as proud of themselves (because of this list I mean) as Lithuania: "LT72 is a website intended to prepare Lithuanian residents for emergencies. It allows residents to learn how to be be prepared for an accident, ..."

[–] JubilantJaguar@lemmy.world 0 points 5 hours ago

Offtopic but IMO "Netherland" would be a better English name than the fussy "The Netherlands". And Nederland would be better still. It's easily pronounceable.

[–] PrivateNoob@sopuli.xyz 14 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Is Temu really that much cheaper compared to Aliexpress to be "worth it"?

[–] FMT99@lemmy.world 12 points 6 hours ago

They have better marketing

[–] TheFriendlyDickhead@feddit.org 4 points 5 hours ago

For me personally my phone downloaded it automatically because I apperently missed some checkmark or something. Instantly deleted it, but it still counts. Samsung btw.

[–] Hobbes_Dent@lemmy.world 7 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

I’m like “Wildberries and Tetris?” and that’s just tangential to wtf Temu.

Look at us go wheeee.

[–] NotProLemmy@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 hours ago

99% of people who use Temu are dumb. They don't stop to ask "everything is so cheap, but why?". Because they get blinded by convenience. And i HATE those people.

[–] FancyLad@lemmy.world 2 points 6 hours ago (2 children)

No love for Finland? Threads is kind of fun and at least it isn't selling you landfill fodder

[–] Lazycog@sopuli.xyz 10 points 5 hours ago

They downloaded threads in hopes of browsing sopuli through threads, of course /s

[–] UltraMasculine@sopuli.xyz 6 points 5 hours ago

I live in Finland and I know no one who uses Threads, or at least nobody has never mentioned it.
