That just looks like a normal picture of the spare pres.
Yeesh, the U.S. is deporting people for carrying images of Cabbage Patch Dolls, now?
Land of the free and party of small government, eh?
What's next, Winnie the Pooh memes?
His first mistake was wanting to go to USA.
Man if that's all it takes, I'm fucked when they start searching citizens' phones.
I mean, y'know, openly. I'm not delusional enough to think they don't already know what's on there.
Don't give them your phone password. You don't have to and that threat of prison or fines was complete bullshit. They could deny him entry, but that's it, and they can't deny a US citizen.
They can literally arrest non-citizens indefinitely while "awaiting" deportation. There is no upper time limit and anyone handling his case can just make "mistakes" requiring any deportation request to be re-re-re-re-submitted.
The commenter that started this is a citizen, deportation is not in the options. And for non-citizens, it's not like giving them your password protects you from what you describe.
Oh, it does not matter if you are a citizen, they can deport you - https://ktla.com/news/local-news/ice-has-deported-dozens-of-u-s-citizens-report-says/
Even though it's actually not possible to deport citizens, so it's just kidnapping and trafficking them. And that story above is about known incidents from 2015-2020. God only knows how bad it is now. But do not think you are safe if you are a US citizen. You are not.
Also disable biometric unlock methods. No rules against holding someone's phone up to their face while they're handcuffed.
You guys think they're not just going to beat the fuck out of people and use a backdoor to access files. That's cute.
My understanding is that they've been doing this kind of thing at point of entry for quite some time. I don't understand it at all...
You don’t understand it because it’s irrational.
It’s also unconstitutional. We have an amendment (4A) that addresses this specifically.
I still don't understand the concept of having to hand over your phone?
Never heard of a dictatorship/kingdom?
I'm just saying this goes back to at least in the post 9/11 times and I just don't get it. Yeah, sure, a whole lot of Taco fans now feel they have a permission structure to get even worse. I'm just saying the idea of handing over something like a laptop/phone to goons just because you are crossing a border in the days before Taco? WTAF.
Has anyone made a compilation of all Trump's tweets and statements during Biden's term whining about 'political witch hunts' and 'weaponising the DOJ' when they were simply upholding the law?
What’s ironic is that there is no satire in that picture, like if it was of Obama it would not be a meme.
It only works because JD Vance is that comical and awkward in real life.
It reminds me of Russians getting arrested for having blank signs at the start of the war.
What a loser, going to the USA like that.
From Norway no less.
I really hope an unintended consequence of this is causing Meta and Instagram to take a hit to their shares.
Is Europe gonna stop using WhatsApp? If not, nothing will change.
