For me, Daniel Radcliffe will always be Harry Potter.

Even when I see Elrond in LotR, that's actually just Agent Smith in a funny costume.

[–] hbar@lemmy.ml 8 points 3 months ago

I always call him Agent Elf

[–] hbar@lemmy.ml 21 points 3 months ago

Vince Vaughn as Vince Vaughn in everything.

[–] Vinny_93@lemmy.world 19 points 3 months ago (3 children)

After Miracle Workers, Guns Akimbo and especially Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, Daniel Radcliffe is so much more than Harry Potter to me. He's got this almost Nicolas Cage-y vibe now

[–] JustinTheGM@ttrpg.network 16 points 3 months ago

Don't forget Swiss Army Man!

[–] meyotch@slrpnk.net 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

In all those subsequent roles, I imagine they are all the same universe and Harry’s life just got really random.

[–] Scubus@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 months ago

Harry potter and the multiverse of madness

Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, and Daniel Craig as James Bond.

[–] HootinNHollerin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 13 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

He will always be a dude playing another dude, disguised as another dude, to me

Frodo, even if I was impressed in the movie Hooligan.

[–] ArgumentativeMonotheist@lemmy.world 10 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Didn't even call him by his government name, lol.

[–] BeatTakeshi@lemmy.world 7 points 3 months ago

Elijah Baggins

[–] Bonifratz@sh.itjust.works 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)
[–] BeatTakeshi@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

He's more versatile in my opinion. Watch The Road! Then get impressed and depressed

In the last witch hunter, I predicted his character arc almost on sight. That resulted in me making a bunch of jokes to my girlfriend. "Who could do something like that?" "Elijah would" "i wonder who would have the motive?" "Elijah would"

Fuckin great

[–] Kennystillalive@feddit.org 14 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Niel Patrick Harris will always be Barney Stinson.

[–] bjoern_tantau@swg-empire.de 9 points 3 months ago

No, he is Dr Doogie Howser!

[–] Kennystillalive@feddit.org 7 points 3 months ago

Honorable Mention: Morgan Freeman is God.

[–] pipe01@programming.dev 13 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Rami Malek will always be a hacker

[–] Brad@beehaw.org 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

He was ridiculously amazing as Freddie Mercury.

[–] kurcatovium@piefed.social 4 points 3 months ago

I never knew Freddie was a hacker...

[–] morphballganon@mtgzone.com 12 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Seeing Wayne Knight in Jurassic Park, wondering why Newman is there

[–] lobut@lemmy.ca 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

What about 3rd Rock From The Sun? I think Newman fits in quite well there too.

[–] morphballganon@mtgzone.com 2 points 3 months ago

It was a bit odd seeing him try to defuse a bomb in Die Hard With a Vengeance.

[–] selokichtli@lemmy.ml 11 points 3 months ago

Jason Alexander.

[–] Mugmoor@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 3 months ago

The entire cast of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Danny Devito may have decades of work under his belt, but he'll always be Frank Reynolds to me.

That Blackberry movie that Glenn Howerton was in was decent, but I could not take Bald Dennis seriously.

[–] Bongles@lemmy.zip 7 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Adult Danielle Radcliffe I don't really think "that's Harry Potter". Probably because the beard.

Wesley snipes is blade though.

[–] snailboy@lemm.ee 2 points 3 months ago

β€œThere’s only one Blade. Only ever gonna be one Blade.”

[–] ultranaut@lemmy.world 7 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Kevin Spacey will always be Kevin Spacey. I can't watch him act and see anything else but Kevin Spacey.

[–] Merlu@lemmy.ml 4 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Personally, i can't dissociate him from Frank Underwood.

[–] scintilla@beehaw.org 6 points 3 months ago

RDJ just is iron man at this point. I saw him in Oppenheimer and was genuinely distracted by it.

[–] Witchfire@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago

Sorry Aubrey Plaza, you will forever be an intern

[–] dessalines@lemmy.ml 5 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Christian Bale, Patrick Bateman.

[–] Merlu@lemmy.ml 4 points 3 months ago

For me, he'll always be Bruce Wayne.

[–] BigBananaDealer@lemm.ee 2 points 3 months ago

after watching american psycho you start expecting christian bale to start saying some weird shit or murdering people horribly in any movie hes in

[–] Reverendender@sh.itjust.works 5 points 3 months ago

Ryan Reynolds will always be Ryan Reynolds

[–] nicerdicer@feddit.org 4 points 3 months ago

Jeff Bridges will always be The Dude.

[–] Nemo@slrpnk.net 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Linda Cardinelli is always Lindsay Weir.

[–] Romkslrqusz@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)
[–] Nemo@slrpnk.net 2 points 3 months ago

Yeah, Seth Rogan, too. Jason Segel has broken that mold, though, at least to me. And so has James Franco.

[–] Noerknhar@feddit.org 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Heath Ledger will always be the Joker.

[–] Oni_eyes@sh.itjust.works 23 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I think you mean Sir Ulrich von Lichtenstein

[–] Strider@thelemmy.club 10 points 3 months ago (1 children)

He's blond! He's pissed! He'll see you in the lists!

[–] Oni_eyes@sh.itjust.works 6 points 3 months ago

Gah, what a great movie for a myriad of great actors. Prequels to Wash (Tudyk), King Baratheon (Addy), and Vision (Bettany)

[–] paultimate14@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

I can't hear Richard Horvitz without thinking of Invader Zim. He does a ton of random voices in the more recent Ratchet and Clank games and it's very distracting.

[–] PolandIsAStateOfMind@lemmy.ml 3 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

A lot, but ones that stand up mostly (except few Polish ones which i won't mention because you wouldn't recognize them anyway) are Sean Connery as Marko Ramius, Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard and Tom Cruise as piece of wood.

[–] DatBoomerGirl@lemmy.ca 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Mr. T will always be Mr. T from the A-Team to me.

[–] rokae@lemmy.ml 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

The character is "b. a. baracus" lol but I get what you mean.
