The speaker of the house and Zionist-first Mike Johnson will probably kill this. It would be nice to see if the democrats would vote this through if they gain the house in 2026. My guess, they would not. Epstein had "friends" on both sides of the aisle.

Why would the Democrats vote this through in 2026. Epstein was murdered during Trump's first term, in 2019.

The Dems had a house majority from 2019-2023 and never released it.

From 2021-2023 they had the house, the Senate tiebreaker, and the presidency...

It's because bill clinton is also on the list.

Pretty sure Bill Gates and maybe Bezos are on there too. Not sure on Bezos, it's been a while. They're protecting the gravy train in any case.

Pretty sure Oprah wasn't on the list.

Of course there is! Haven’t you been listening to Trump?!?

The Epstein files are on Pam Bondi's desk right now but also they do not exist but also they do exist because they were written by Obama and Hillary when Epstein killed himself in 2019 when Trump was president.

In other news, we've always been at war with Eastasia.

Schrödinger's File.

The files exist in a range of potential states, in what is called a "superposition" and can essentially be thought of as all of them at once, although weighted to acknowledge that some states are more likely than others.

The files actually don't have any pages until an observation is made.

Probably was. If his name was on it, it was destroyed to the best of his ability in 2019. He just gets worried that he missed something.

If nothing else, it'll force old democrats who'd rather be Republicans to choose between their precious donors and the people they're supposed to serve

Is this from a stand up routine? If so, please share lol

[–] Chulk@lemmy.ml 16 points 4 days ago

They're going to say it's a "distraction" and vote against it. As if forcing the FBI to do something other than snatch brown people off the street is bad.

That won't be a very hard choice for them, lol.

[–] yeather@lemmy.ca 12 points 4 days ago

That hasn’t stopped them before.

Ah, Mondays.

Stay away from the windows, Ro.

Sadly, Johnson can and will squash this, but I applaud Ro Khanna for introducing it.

If only this were somehow privileged.

A privileged resolution is a type of resolution that deals with the internal operations, rules, or constitutional duties of the House. Under House Rule IX, these can be brought directly to the floor by any member, without needing the Speaker’s approval.

Types of Privileged Resolutions in the U.S. House:

  • Impeachment of a president or other civil officer
  • Censure or reprimand of a House member
  • Contempt of Congress (for defying subpoenas, etc.)
  • Expulsion of a member (requires two-thirds vote)
  • Challenges to the seating or election of a member
  • Changes to the House rules
  • Questions of privilege (issues affecting the dignity or functioning of the House)
  • Resolutions of inquiry (demanding information from the executive branch)
[–] 5C5C5C@programming.dev 14 points 4 days ago

Maybe they can do a resolution of inquiry as a first step, demanding the executive branch provide the document to congress.

I mean, considering the point is to out those who who deny it. If Johnson squashes it, mission accomplished, no? Easy target on your back for not doing something that would be morally right. I wouldn't want to be the guy that is known to be responsible for that when there are lots of crazy and pissed people out there.

"Oh shoot, when the DOGEies were here they must have deleted it all. No biggie though, there was nothing interesting in it at all...."

That’s cute. He thinks the files have not been destroyed.

[–] blockheadjt@sh.itjust.works 18 points 4 days ago

Forcing a vote is good for optics regardless

[–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 3 points 3 days ago

This is an obvious misinformation dodge. A classic propaganda technique. You are either a stooge of the state or a useful idiot. If you resent both of those labels, please do not reinforce this propaganda spin any further.

seems like kayfabe

What are the means by which the regime's dictator would be removed should he be found to have done what we all know he did? None? We're still fucked and we still need to [scene missing] because the regime has absolute power over the government of the colonies.

[–] edel@lemmy.ml 3 points 4 days ago

If there is such a compromising "list" it would have been made disappear long ago so I would not even demand "the list". Now, there should be a report if what was confiscated from Epstein and some form of proof it has not been tampered with, that is what should be demanded.

[–] Kowowow@lemmy.ca 2 points 4 days ago

I can accept nothing important existed in the first place but they can't just switch it up after hammering into peoples heads for so long
