I posted the article because I thought some might find it interesting, I don't agree with the contents in the article myself. I agree with your take. But I think it's important to at least read what ideas are being put forward and to drive duscussion.

Oh fuck off. It's always a guilt trip to cover up the shitload of nothing that governments require corporations to do to reduce emissions. I'm going to keep my dog because she's awesome, and when she dies I'll get another. And we'll both eat meat.

I have never owned a car and have always been very efficient with my traveling. But then the local police department parks half a dozen of police cars near the university, running 24/7 for months, to monitor the dangerous people asking the school to divest it's money from Israel.
Or, in a day or maybe a few hours, someone like Taylor Swift will pollute as much as I do in a decade.
But yes, I will avoid having a dog to make sure a rich billionaire can have two dozens of them to chase the poor from his domain.
The rich billionaire will still have dogs even if you don't, and the cops will still idle their cars even if you don't have them. They don't care. We're buying time for an armed revolution.
Drag had a dog growing up and loved it, but drag could never have one as an adult, because drag wouldn't feel right buying it meat. The most important climate friendly action you can take is to not have children.
Walk, bike and Take public transit in that order and eat vegetarian 5 days a week.
