Can you buy porn games with it or do the Christians tell you what you can and can't buy?

"Wero" (or, with modern spelling, "vero") is Finnish and means "tax".

Will be difficult getting Finns to use this with such a name, especially since we already use the Danish-made MobilePay very VERY much.

I've maintained that iDEAL was a better name. Wero is snazzy though, I give them that.

I was just wondering about this because I remembered that iDeal was supposed to be adopted EU-wide. So it's just a rebranding.

They store everything in a US cloud.

Source? Genuinely interested to read more about it, because the wikipedia article is kinda short and doesnt have anything about this.

Would be nice if they wouldn't require an app.

Also since I have a degoogled phone, the app crashes for root detection.

Soooo , wow a service that is worse than paypal and still locks me into some US service dependency.

For real? I'd assumed this would be something platform agnostic you could do in a browser.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised it's actually locked in garbage that is completely dependent on you being either an Apple or Google user.

Sadly, yes.

Instantly wiring money to friends without resorting to PayPal is nice, but: When will we see Wero in all our stores instead of the credit card terminals that currently only accept EC and the big US credit card systems?

Itโ€™s in progress

Thank you for sharing

Portugal already MBWay, which seems to be similar. MBway is very popular, most people use it.

Wero seems to be unavailable still.

I see how it could replace PayPal, for person to person small transactions. I've used it only a couple of times to pay back some friends. I don't see Wero becoming useful for paying groceries or other goods and services from companies any time soon unfortunately, especially here in south Germany where paying by card it still much more complicated that it's out to be in 2025 ! I have some hope about the digital Euro, but this one is also a long shot.
