It must be really bright where they all live. And they must live in their cars. Also they like denim.

[–] Ghis@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

In reality it's just yet another example of rightie on rightie violence.

Let the monkeys kill each other idgaf

[–] CarbonIceDragon@pawb.social 54 points 1 week ago

Given the skin tone and sunglasses, one could put that picture of the suspect they're looking for in there and see if anyone notices

[–] Funky_Beak@lemmy.sdf.org 45 points 1 week ago (5 children)

.... like do they think cheap knockoff sunglasses from a gas station make them look cool? Its got some weird 14 year old boy energy.

[–] lennybird@lemmy.world 28 points 1 week ago (1 children)

My dad is the coolest most scrappiest Appalachian mountain man who managed to escape the cult of republicanism 2 decades ago. This is one remnant, those damn sunglasses, from those days, and I try not to judge but I do cringe a bit. He fucking despises Trump and Republicans, mind you.

[–] Funky_Beak@lemmy.sdf.org 5 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Like sunglasses can be cool. I despise richard nixon but having a bunch of dudes in wayfarers behind him in his speeches did look cool. Maybe your dad would like to embrace the wayfarer look?

[–] Lodespawn@aussie.zone 17 points 1 week ago (1 children)

How else do you attract 14yr old boys?

[–] Funky_Beak@lemmy.sdf.org 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Well thats a terrifying revelation.

[–] Lodespawn@aussie.zone 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

On at least two different levels

[–] bstix 3 points 1 week ago

It could be argued which is worse, but it's the same people doing it anyway.

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It's cause that's when they peaked.

[–] malloc@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago

It's when they peaked mentally, too.

[–] blargh513@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 week ago

No no, they make up the cool by taking a picture from the drivers seat of their 12 year old Ford Escape.

[–] RaivoKulli@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 week ago

I like that sort of glasses for driving. Don't need to be expensive to be good for that

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 36 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I’ve gotten death threats for posting Kirk’s own words about acceptable gun deaths and dismissing empathy, sometimes in the same breath as calling out the “violent left”, while not knowing the ideology of the shooter. They’re fucking insane.

[–] MML@sh.itjust.works 12 points 1 week ago

Lol I've just calmly expressed how easily the red hat would make it to dome them at a distance, not one has considered continuing the conversation past that, like yes those are my ideas actually.

[–] sad_detective_man@leminal.space 30 points 1 week ago (2 children)

funniest thing to me is this is exactly how the "person of interest" dressed.

just, well played m'lord

[–] sausager@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

I was looking for his pic in the group. Missed opportunity imo

The median voter strikes again

[–] falynns@lemmy.world 26 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Why do they always have terrible profile photos. Sunglasses and the same dumb expression.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 17 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (3 children)

Because they're in the same cult.

Not only is conformity encouraged, but deviating from their group norms even slightly is met with suspicion if not outright fear and hostility.

Plus that's what people who are emotionally stuck in adolescence and/or the 80s think looks cool.

[–] derry@midwest.social 4 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Hey leave the 80s out of this. Some of us from that time period are not terrible people.

I watch some random YouTube videos sometimes, when auto play is on it just plays another random video while i do chores for example. A video owas playing where some guys motorcycle broke down and some random guys helped him. The put it in their barn and worked hard to fix it. In the back was this huge trump 2024 flag just hanging out. To me it's genuinely weird to see. A part ofe thought: "oh no, these people are real and not just on the internet." And how can you be so nice and so fucking stupid at the same time?

[–] The_v@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Human tribalism at its finest. We really only associate a few hundred people as fully human in our social group at one time.

Take of care of people in your group. People from other groups are less than human and should all be exterminated. It's a highly selected for trait from human evolutionary history.

..."tribalism" is a hard-to-escape fact of human neurology simply because many human brains are not adapted to working with large populations

[–] FlyingCircus@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Outside of the primitive communism of our hunter/gatherer days we’ve never had a society that is free from a ruling class that sows discord and division to protect themselves. I wouldn’t be so sure that tribalism is innately human and not something that we have been conditioned to by millennia of rule by psychopaths.

[–] Tiger666@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 week ago

I agree with you 100%

Cannot for a moment leave a shred of evidence that he even knows what an attractive man might look like.

What an exhausting existence.

That's not it their dumb expression, that's their dumb faces.

[–] psycho_driver@lemmy.world 19 points 1 week ago

A felon that then pardoned people responsible for the deaths of five police officers who died stopping an attempted coup from said felon.

[–] the_q@lemmy.zip 16 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Why do so many conservatives do sunglasses? Like, isn't their whole schtick that they're individuals and mavericks? Fucking copy paste.

[–] taiyang@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Right, real mavericks wear monocles and rhyme every so often but not every time. That's the kinda maverick I want avenging me.

[–] DJDarren@sopuli.xyz 4 points 1 week ago

I want the Mavericks to avenge the night away for me.

[–] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago (1 children)

There's no cognitive dissonance where there's no cognition.

Just letting you know you've forced my hand and I'm stealing that line. 👍

Half these guys have a secret Grindr

[–] AllNewTypeFace@leminal.space 12 points 1 week ago (4 children)

What’s the collective noun for chunguses?

[–] Vupware@lemmy.zip 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It’s gotta be Chungi, right?

[–] onslaught545@lemmy.zip 2 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

They're talking about a collection of animals, not the plural form of the word (which chunguses is). Like a group of crows is called a murder.

[–] javiwhite@feddit.uk 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I think the plural should be chungi, and the collective noun either a clowder, or a murder.

[–] Agrivar@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Why would you besmirch cats and crows that way? The collective noun should be something vaguely derogatory, like "heap" or "clump."

[–] LavaPlanet@sh.itjust.works 2 points 6 days ago

The collective noun should be bag of dicks. Or bag for short.

[–] javiwhite@feddit.uk 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Not so much to do with the current designation of clowder, but rather I was inspired by the origin of the word.

A variation, recorded since 1801, of clutter, itself from clot, from Old English clott (“round mass, lump”), from Proto-Germanic *klūtaz (hence cognate with Dutch kloot (“ball, testicle”), Danish klods (“a block, lump”) and German Klotz (“lump, block”)).

As for murder, I think labelling them with their intent is simply a good idea.

I've nothing against crows or cats, but the person who coined their respective collective nouns probably did.

[–] Agrivar@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Ok, I did not know the origin of clowder, and retract my earlier objection.

[–] Blackmist@feddit.uk 3 points 1 week ago
[–] Denjin@feddit.uk 10 points 1 week ago

Looks suspiciously like the same pictures that keep messaging me on grindr. Coincidence?

[–] ApatheticCactus@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

Well, if there was an AI bot swarm to try to affect public opinion, and they needed to generate profile pics...

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

I'm a middle-aged white guy, salt-and-pepper-goatee. Let them think I am MAGA. When I speak out on them in public, they have been surprised. And now I have to go armed, non-stop, and it sucks.

Pretty sure I’ve argued with that tnn jerkoff but who knows theres probably 20 that look exactly like him
