And before people start saying this is somehow new, I bet if we had group chat apps back in the 70s and 80s, we'd have the exact same messages from THOSE then "Young Republicans."
This shit is baked into the GQP, like it was in the Dixiecrats in the 40s, 50s, and 60s, and like it was in the Confederates in the 1860s.

This reminds me of the time Trump tried to excuse his “grab em by the pussy” anecdote by calling it locker room talk. Well, i go to the gym regularly and have done so for years. I never hear (and never say) shit like that. Same goes for my college chats. Creeps like Vance probably think everyone is a bigot, but some people are shy about it.

It seems pretty obvious that they were talking about how the only time Republicans show empathy is when they're personally feeling pain.
Most Republicans don't give a single shit if thousands of school kids are shot every year, but if it was kids they know, they'd want to actually protect kids from gun violence.
That's completely different than how Couch Fucker is portraying it.
