/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

Hank Hill is a better father than Worf ever could be.

Even Micheal Dorn thought that Worf was not a good father to Alexander.

There's no way Worf would have posed for a photo with his son.

This is actually pretty accurate. There was a big discussion about how, at least on TNG, Worf had more of an insufferably romanticized perspective of Klingon culture, like him scolding someone saying Klingons do not laugh despite evidence to the contrary.

He's basically a Klingon weeb. He learned to Klingon from operas, and has an idealized understanding of honour that is completely out of touch with reality.

Dax and Martok call him on this repeatedly

That boy is without honor, I tell ya hwat.

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 6 points 2 days ago

Hwat is now officially a Klingon word

I think the growth word showed in DS9 sets him apart

I don't recall his growth with Alexander in TNG much (yes need a rematch and he probably has more growth in other episodes) but he did seem to be a better citizen in DS9, probably better writers but I always enjoyed Worf regardless. He always seemed like he was trying to better himself for his society as stubborn as he preferred to seem.

Though I will say it takes a warrior to enjoy prune juice in their glory days. Well not really but I like to think so for some of my days

I'm only just watching King of the Hill for the first time, and just saw the constipation episode. It would quite neatly explain Worf's preference for prune juice.

Yes Bobby, I'm "just" a Bat'leth salesman - but I do it with honor.

Now grab that cleaning cloth, you've been promoted to blade-wipe.
