a fruit that was once highly sought after but now has been mostly forgotten

ah the horrors of twink death

[–] Track_Shovel@slrpnk.net 65 points 1 year ago (2 children)

That setup is as ergonomically friendly as a medieval breaking wheel

[–] nxdefiant@startrek.website 8 points 1 year ago

the bottom of the keyboard "tray" looks like it would touch the chair seat if fully extended.

I'm imagining the chair has no back, and the legs are all different lengths.

For most people yea. He's a contortionist. So would he actually notice i wonder?

This was my immediate thought. For all we know he multitasks by sitting in the lotus pose on that chair.

This guy is honestly one of my favourite youtubers. I had no idea so many weird and wonderful fruits existed in the world

[–] BarrelAgedBoredom@lemm.ee 16 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Same! Wholesome, entertaining, and informative. What's not to love?

[–] skulblaka@startrek.website 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He sounds like the Technology Connections of fruit

[–] BarrelAgedBoredom@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago

That's actually a good comparison lol. A bit less snark, a bit more docile nerd and you're on the money

I really hate those under desk keyboard drawers if they get in the way and / or are un-ergonomic

[–] Aquila@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 year ago

I love mine! The front plate has hinges so it folds down and outta the way. When I’m not using my key board I can hide it and leaves desk open for mouse and snacks

[–] SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 31 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I need to report a desk crime to the desk sergeant please.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 20 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Will they issue a bench warrant?

[–] SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 13 points 1 year ago (1 children)

They’ll need a sitting judge to sign off on the bench warrant.

[–] troybot@midwest.social 7 points 1 year ago

The judge should give him the chair

[–] cyborganism@lemmy.ca 27 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Ow! My back! My shoulders! My carpal tunnel!

[–] nyahlathotep@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Wrists is what immediately jumped out at me, but a chair with no back support = no good long term

[–] Successful_Try543@feddit.de 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Isn't it the exact opposite, as you are really forced to sit straight and don't lean against the support?

[–] nyahlathotep@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

IIRC the thing that causes long term damage is staying in the same position for long periods of time. Without a back rest, there isn't much movement you can do to change position. I could be misremembering though

Edit: of course you could just stand up every once in a while and that'd probably take care of it I guess, I'm not an Orthopedist

Weird Explorer in the wild is a rare sight.

I don't get how anyone can trust those mugs with a tapered base.

Are you trying to spill your drink as far as you possibly can?

You just need one finger to catch the edge of the cup, and gravity/momentum will do the rest.

[–] ZombiFrancis@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The orientation of the mug handle to the desk and chair for the picture bothers me regardless.

[–] Gladaed@feddit.de 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Can't have the mouse hand leave the mouse. Sanest thing in the post.

[–] 0ops@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

That's like driving without ever taking your hand off the stick

[–] ZombiFrancis@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 year ago

Left side of desk for mug then. No reason to cross all that paperwork with a full mug.

That mug was posed, dare I say it.

[–] BarrelAgedBoredom@lemm.ee 4 points 1 year ago

I've got a couple of cups like that. The bases are usually very thick which shifts it's center of gravity lower. It's not nearly as top heavy as they look

[–] sploosh@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Is it mangosteen? I'm guessing it's mangosteen.

[–] Midnitte@beehaw.org 5 points 1 year ago

I was expecting more fruit...

[–] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I really hate the fact, that the word "goon" now has a new meaning. (Bring back "coom"!)

it's not instagram reels comments

[–] Pulptastic@midwest.social 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That KB is slightly too wide for the tray.

[–] Hamartia@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

It's a drawer that he's pulled the keyboard into to free up desk space for highlighting text on the printouts.

More worryingly, the space between the bottom of the drawer and the top of the chair would make a XKCD character wince.
