Yes, I'm a moderator for the community AskLemmy@lemmy.world even though I'm on vlemmy.net.

Yes, but it can become problematic if the instance you're on is defederated from the one you mod. It's happened with people on Beehaw.

But, ideally, it shouldn't be an issue.

Can pre-emptively handle that by registering on the host instance of the community and having both accounts mod that community.

Do you ever have problems seeing all the posts in the community, like from slow syncing (not sure of the term)?

I get your meaning. I've seen some people compare and contrast their local copy versus the home instance and seen discrepancies. I would assume there's some syncing slowness depending on the load on each instance respectively. But I don't personally mod anything on other instances, so I don't know if this would make modding harder (though, theoretically, I can see there being a potential issue). I would maybe pull in a local person on the home instance to mod alongside, just in case.

That seems like a good idea, thanks for the feedback

What about if you're on Kbin moderating a Lemmy community? Is that possible?

[โ€“] tmpod@lemmy.pt 1 points 2 years ago

Yep! But this community isn't the right place for such questions, !lemmy_support@lemmy.ml is :)
