I'm also looking for a place without edgy or crazy people.

For me its:

Democratic: yes

Socialism/social net/sgaring/helping: yes

Dictatorial: no

Tankie: no

Undemocratic: no

China or CCCP/URSS worship: no

Soviet whitewashing: no

That's about it.

Sorry to bother, good luck.

So not decentralised then 😅

[–] Valmond@lemmy.world 1 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah but that doesn't solve anything for the average Joe. Nor lost packages or scamming tactics etc.

I'm not saying you should call anyone a removed but you americans sure have some strange problems with words if you can't even put it in writing.

Should we censor words like Nazi, Hitler, Accident, Hate, Rape, and so on? Who decides the approved words? How do you even transcribe events correctly?

It's like peopke think that there is nothing bad done if we just don't talk about it.

You mean the authors would actually earn money instead of the "publisher"? How unfair! /s

When mist books were made of paper, the publishers job was quite the deal including printing, delivering, stocks, pulp the rests etc. So they took the lions share of the price together with the bookstore and the author got maybe 10-15% from the final price.

Today it's just theft.

In Ust-Luga...

The problem they (should/did) solve was scamming, and payments. So you'd need to have some banking system with locked money, disputes etc. IMO that is the complicated part, the rest is just more or less a searchable database.

Very nice!

It's hard to loose up without losing it. Good job!

Sounds like she has no empathy already, and some sort of fragile ego so potentially narcissistic.

And if you want to look at some lines before you can use your eyes to literally just look there. Instead of fiddling with the stupid -10 seconds button.

Hello!

Longtime Connect user, I would like to add a bug:

Since last version a couple of days ago, when someone posts a comment to a comment I posted in a thread, you get the usual little red number (1) and when you check out your new messages, there is their answer.

So far so good.

Now when I click the message to post an answer to their answer, and this is the bug, instead of showing my post plus the answer (in the corresponding thread) it only shows the answer!

So if the answer is "no" for example, I have no idea which one of my posts it refers to. This becomes problematic in threads with lots of posts.

HTH!

Cheers and thanks for this amazing soft!

Literally the headline. Not illegal at all is best of course.

I'd like to have a sort of reverse Warrant Canary of sorts, that will pop if security is breached

Hello everyone and happy holidays!

I'm interested in photovoltaic panels, it's the future and all!

But with the subsidiaries and the general enshittification of search engines, all search results about photovoltaics leads to sites with wildly misleading information, IMO.

I don't care about a 3kWc system with installation. What even is a kWc (I know what it is) and why is nobody explaining how much power the panels would typically yield instead? Per month? During the day?

I guess it is less selling if your installation is generating near nothing in December when you need it the most?

Okay sorry, rant off. My question is, where can I find reliable information about how much panels generate every month, during the day?

I know places have more or less sun, but that's quite easy to figure out if you have the numbers for any place.

🌞

Edit: I don't need a web calculator for how many panels I need. I'd like to know roughly how many watt a typical panel produces a specific day (or better hour) in the year.

Edit2: I am not looking for how to install or calculate a typical solar panel setup. I'm looking for the typical real world output of solar panels around the day and year.

Edit3: got my information, thanks oo1@lemmings.world ! You all can now continue explaining how many panels a home needs or what a kwh is, Merry Christmas to you all!

Using old filaments (lemmy.world)
submitted 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) by Valmond@lemmy.world to c/3dprinting@lemmy.world

Hello,

I put my homemade 3D printer in the garage when I moved 2 years ago, the filaments I had were maybe 2 years old and worked well.

I bulk bought them on aliexpress or maybe alibaba.

Now, the printer needs a refreshing, a bit of all kind of electrical & mechanical stuff and also figuring out how to run it from my new computer, and I wonder if I should buy some new filament so that I won't have to care about any old filament problems or what do you think? Is my filament dead or maybe ok?

Thanks!

Edit: thank you all!

I'll go with buy a new high quality one to get everything up and running, and then I'll check out the quality of the old spools. Who are stored open, but in a airtight box with a kilo of, now grey, alibaba deciccant pellets.

I think I can say that the ruble is in free fall

Hello all!

My phone started to be low on "disk" space, and Connects cache eats up 23.5GB so I checked but couldn't find any way how to clear it.

So can you, without like uninstall+ reinstall ?

Edit: thank you rubber-🦆

F-Droid -> DiskUsage -> helps you open the correct config page to clear caches, super easy peasy.

Hello, I'm Valmond creator of the Tenfingers sharing protocol & implementation.

To make it more motivating for people to try it out, what should I share to showcase its abilities? It can be rougly anything up to say a gigabyte.

I'm thinking about music, video, parts of wikipedia, ...

Legal of course.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Cheers & thanks!
