Well, you can learn a lot from failures!

If done well, training AI on this kind of data could be a good thing. It could make say your smartphone (for example) tell you that you have a problem, be used as a first diagnostic and so on. Invaluable in countries where doctors are scarce for example.

Can we please stop getting sidetracked by "trump might eat green cheese 2026" please?

Xiaomi has faast charge, and it (33watt) has worked both fast and reliable on my 4-5 year old note 9 pro phone. I just changed to a 13tp with 120 watt, let's see how that pans out πŸ”₯πŸ˜‹

Well it's not all rosy, but today immigration has become a weaponized tool, the Kremlin pays immigrants to ship them over to the Baltic states, uses propaganda in all ways to sway people to vote on bad things etc.

I'm not saying the EU is some sort of haven, but it's probably one of the better places.

I think you are spot on with nationalism etc. It's a fucking plague. We have enough of everything but no no let's not share it. Sigh.

About Russia though, they have always always been the bad ones (except 1991-2000? Maamybee), and we do a very very poor job of blocking their misinformation campaigns. It's also way more powerful today with social media than it was just ten years ago.

So today we got what we got, we can't just "remove" all governments in the EU for example, it would just lead to a disaster. Fighting for a better world? Yes, I'd love that.

I so wonder why people can't stand you.

Kremlin bot on a new account I see...

[–] Valmond@lemmy.world 7 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

Says the brand new account posting 60 times in one day.

Busted.

[–] Valmond@lemmy.world 2 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Is it though? I mean big companies most probably tweak whatever engine they use too, and the whole game is closed source, so company specific stuff is obiqutous to say the least.

Good points otherwise IMO.

Europe is quite accepting to immigration, but if you look for a country where no one dislikes foreigners, good luck!

What I wanted to say in the beginning is, you band together to form a government, for the people, by the people! The US one is kind of crap, the russian one is an authoritarian hell hole, likewise in china.

Here in Europe we complain all the time about "the government" but that is to make politicians change their policies, because we'll vote them in if we like them (the policies) or vote them out if we dislike them. Works half-reasonable well (when the Kremlin doesn't spew too much disinformation), better than any other system IMO.

You can't do that in Russia, so I understand your frustration about "the government".

Lemmy Python API? (lemmy.world)

Hello!

I'm toying with making one of those oldtime slow-games (you gain action points like every hour or day) here on lemmy. For that to work I'd need to read a users (the game bot) private messages, send messages from it and make basic posts on my lemmy server.

I looked at plemmy and posting seems OK, but I haven't digged deeper, so any recommendations warmly welcome!

Cheers

Hello !

When I try to download an image, with the new good looking (πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ) popup overlay, I get this error:

Cheers!

Hi everyone!

Is there a simple way to use the Lemmy authentication on a web page?

Like if abc@xyz.com clicks on a link taking them to my personally hosted webpage while they are logged in, the back end can figure out it's him doing it?

Why? I'm toying with putting one of my stupid multiplayer games online for fun so definitely nothing too serious. I'm also curious about how activitypub deals with stuff like that.

Hello,

The T-shirts from threadless has always been good quality for the price, with nice esthetics sometimes (I also buy just flat colours), what's the replacement site for tall guys (6"6) in Europe?

Hello!

After planting some parsley, it contaminated another pot, the big one in the photo, then some flat parsley started to grow in yet another pot so I transferred it there, god knows from where the chive comes from and then a "stick" started pushing, and eventually sprouted some leaves which could make it idetifyable, or so I hope!

Any idea what it might be? It feels like the beginning of a tree...

Edit: sorry, photo upload didn't work.

I have seen all kind of claims, bit they seems to be in the future, like 1.000.000qbits or perfect error correction.

Do they have a real breakthrough or is it just undergoing advancments on a slow road?

Hello!

Longtime Connect user, I would like to add a bug:

Since last version a couple of days ago, when someone posts a comment to a comment I posted in a thread, you get the usual little red number (1) and when you check out your new messages, there is their answer.

So far so good.

Now when I click the message to post an answer to their answer, and this is the bug, instead of showing my post plus the answer (in the corresponding thread) it only shows the answer!

So if the answer is "no" for example, I have no idea which one of my posts it refers to. This becomes problematic in threads with lots of posts.

HTH!

Cheers and thanks for this amazing soft!

Hi everyone, I'm Valmond and I'm working on a decentralised sharing network based on reciprocity.

It's working but I haven't found a place where to showcase it/find followers/interested people. Would a decentralised, secure, FOSS, sharing system ; you share what ever you want with whom you want by sharing back, well would that kind of idea have a place here?

Cheers

Valmond

Literally the headline. Not illegal at all is best of course.

I'd like to have a sort of reverse Warrant Canary of sorts, that will pop if security is breached

Hello everyone and happy holidays!

I'm interested in photovoltaic panels, it's the future and all!

But with the subsidiaries and the general enshittification of search engines, all search results about photovoltaics leads to sites with wildly misleading information, IMO.

I don't care about a 3kWc system with installation. What even is a kWc (I know what it is) and why is nobody explaining how much power the panels would typically yield instead? Per month? During the day?

I guess it is less selling if your installation is generating near nothing in December when you need it the most?

Okay sorry, rant off. My question is, where can I find reliable information about how much panels generate every month, during the day?

I know places have more or less sun, but that's quite easy to figure out if you have the numbers for any place.

🌞

Edit: I don't need a web calculator for how many panels I need. I'd like to know roughly how many watt a typical panel produces a specific day (or better hour) in the year.

Edit2: I am not looking for how to install or calculate a typical solar panel setup. I'm looking for the typical real world output of solar panels around the day and year.

Edit3: got my information, thanks oo1@lemmings.world ! You all can now continue explaining how many panels a home needs or what a kwh is, Merry Christmas to you all!
