I think those are related to survivor benefits. Like an old man marrying a young woman in the 40's. Like the civil war vets marrying woman in the 20th century. The last civil war widow was getting benefits until she died in 2020. But still the same basic issue.

But in that case the old man isn't getting benefits but just is needed as a reference for the person actually getting them.

And honestly the whole RAGE from Curtis Yarvin sounds a lot smarter and more marketable as a catchy phrase. Going with DOGE is just an edgelord move, but Musk is the best example of one I've ever seen. It drives me nuts that it seems like so few people actually think it's dumb in real life.

It's because that explanation isn't correct. The real deal is you just have entries without a death date, so if you ran a query this get super old ages as a result.

Note that isn't a database of payments or even people eligible for them, just a listing of 'everyone' with a SSN. There is a separate master death index. In the old days, wild west kind of stuff people would disappear so the death date would never get entered. Modern days every morgue and funeral home has to legally notify SS when someone dies, there is a specific form and major hell to pay if you don't do it.

They have a sheriff's office I bet, they are bad enough. I love in a small town and the cops are the worst. They don't do anything helpful, they swagger around dressed like they are in a war zone, and local businesses feel pressured to give them free stuff all the time. Free meals, drinks, let them cut in line, so annoying.

Trump voters in my area of the country are still extremely happy with what Trump and Musk are doing. When Trump eventually invests all of social security in his meme coin they will probably be thrilled with that too.

He's probably just mad that Norm is getting all the attention and stealing his thunder.

People act like it's only government workers that are lazy and wasteful. But lazy workers are universal, especially with the soulless jobs that the vast majority of people have to do in order to survive.

Far too many Americans will argue with you about how every single thing Trump and Musk do, is good. There is no way to change their mind and I am surrounded by them.

Part of his drive into politics is because of so number of lawsuits against him about working conditions.

But he'll put many more people out of work than just work for Tesla. Just USAID he's out basically 10k people out of work domestically, who knows how many thousands of people overseas.

It doesn't help that the Dems are continuing to act like it was a major victory, and that they are so weak and powerless to do anything.

Thiel had the board of Paypal vote to boot Musk out of the company while Musk was on his honeymoon. I can only hope something similar could happen while he is in DC sleeping at the foot of Trump's bed.
