Why not both? Filter support would mean you'd have to update your list continuously based on current politicians and depend on certain words being used in the title/body.

A tag would still mean you'd have to depend on OP to select the right one (or perhaps on a mod to assign the right one), but at least the amount of variables would be infinitely less complex

Ah I forgot about Mario + Rabbids. I did buy that one, albeit second hand.

And I've heard good things about the Prince of Persia game before, but I refuse to give them any money. Mostly due to their business practices, sexual harassment suits and other misconduct.

There's plenty of games to play and love, so I'm not missing much. Regardless, thanks for the recommendations, I know you're doing it from a good place.

Man, screw this headline.

Literally in the news post on Steam, it says:

What About Assassin's Creed III Remastered?

Achievements for Assassin's Creed III Remastered are coming soon!

So while factually an accurate headline, it's implying something else. More accurate would be 13 years on, Ubisoft adds Steam achievements to original Assassin's Creed III, with achievements coming to AC III Remastered soon too.

Disclaimer: I hate Ubisoup games and I haven't bought a single game since Far Cry 3

You can make an awesome game, if no streamer picks it up it will all be for nothing. Last year 18935 games released on Steam, that’s 52 games a day, being successful in that space isn’t just about making a quality product.

Yep. Best example I can think of is Among Us: 2018 release that got massively popular due to content creators during the covid-19 pandemic in 2020.

I do not blame developers for accepting funds to carry out their dreams instead of being thrown into the ocean of "let's see if our years-long investment will pay itself back". Epic grants guarantee that the game gets made.

If you want to play a game only on Steam, you'll just have to wait. Can't have it both ways.

OP, your answer is in this thread

[–] donuts@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago (3 children)

Sorry, I didn't mean to say I was disagreeing or keep arguing whether the action itself was justified. I was trying to convey why people are up in arms over some troll mod

[–] donuts@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (5 children)

Or !yepowertrippinbastards@lemmy.dbzer0.com which is the actually appropriate place to post something serious

The banned user has posted to that community already.

This is something that should have never federated, to be honest

I'm not sure if you mean this post or sdf as a whole, but there's already people talking about defederating from sdf because of bad actors

For all I know, this is an admission of guilt.

The moderator that banned them hasn't replied to anything, anywhere, except make this facetious post.

[–] donuts@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago (7 children)

And how does this justify getting banned for a non existent rule?

[–] donuts@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago (9 children)

So what is going on?

[–] donuts@lemmy.world 11 points 3 days ago (25 children)

If your culture is to ban users for non-existing rules to troll them, you can stick it somewhere

[–] donuts@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

You right, they mentioned both. My bad.

In the settings I've found card view and compact view, but even in card view images are not full sized.

Is there a way to enable this through some other means? I dislike having to open images all the time when scrolling to view the entire thing.

Was just looking up a song on the radio as we were talking about it. Seems like they forgot to remove a part of the prompt before pasting it

I love Sync for how it feels and looks, but user tagging is locked behind premium. In short, I don't have enough confidence in the app's future to invest in premium.

So I was wondering what apps are available, whether paid or free, that allows me to flag users like trolls, bad faith reactionaries and the like? Thanks in advance.

Edit: didn't realize so many different apps offered it, seems like I've been in a real bubble. Thanks everyone, will give them a go and see what suits me best!

This whole "manual" is like this. No idea how they managed to screw up so bad

I know some folks that chronically don't reply but react with emoji, so at least I'll get a notification now.

I can also see this becoming really annoying if you announce something in a large community and you get notified.

NOTE: Reaction notifications are currently an experimental feature limited to a select number of desktop and mobile users.

No update about this yet, but they have added info about how to edit your hosts file to get access:

We're probably going to wait this one out. We considered putting up a new domain but there are implications with third party services that make it not a trivial swap. In the meantime, if you know how to tweak your hosts file use: 45.33.107.166

If you did this, don't forget to remove it again:

⚠️ If you do edit your hosts file, please remember to remove all the lines after domain is restored.

Although we typically hold an IP for a while, it can change if we update our back-end infrastructure.

If you hit "next", the consent window opens again and if you refuse any of them, you get put back at this screen so you're stuck in a loop.

This shitty practice is even endorsed by Google, as they are promoting this game to try out and earn points.

Edit: game is called Jewel Gold Empire: Match 3 and it's from some Korean company it seems: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.penta.empire.google

Obviously I uninstalled it immediately after

After checking the achievement notification, I was presented with this:

Context: I still have an account after using PDS to alter/remove all my posts and wiping my profile, but I still get messages from redditors seeking help so I check in from time to time.

Texas Bighorn sheep return to Franklin Mountains

80 Texas Bighorn sheep were reintroduced by helicopter, the first in decades, to their natural habitats in the Franklin Mountains.

The world's oldest known wild bird has laid an egg at the approximate age of 74, US biologists say.

Wisdom, a Laysan albatross, was filmed by the US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) at the Midway Atoll national wildlife refuge in the Pacific Ocean with her latest partner looking after the egg.

Members of the species usually only live for 12-40 years, but Wisdom was tagged in 1956 when she was about five.
