For a compression format? I'd say it's still relevant. Compression ratio and speed are the only meaningful metrics. And I'm not saying winrars still the best, clearly 7z has taken over in that regard. But for it's own niche use case from years back it was clearly the better product.

Winrar definitely compresses better than zip. At least based on my experience.

I actually really like winrar. Is it my format of choice? No, there's open free alternatives. But it was a legit better product developed by like one guy that they then proceeded to give free access to with a license that incentivises paying them for their work and has probably raked in insane sums from corporations over the years. It's what happens when you have a Microsoft like idea without the endless greed to sprawl into a billion dollar company.

Lmao, musk is on record as making absurd offers and then trying everything he can to back out of them. I'm not sure why he offered this himself instead of getting a consortium of investors together to do so on his behalf without any involvement from him.

Tbf all platforms have this. Steams not much better. Neither is the Xbox ecosystem. We truly are in the worst timeline.

Wow AC shadows pre sale levels must be really bad. Not too surprising tho. For a studio that basically said "there's way more interesting time periods we want to focus on" the fact they finally went to feudal Japan felt more like they ran out of interesting ideas. Doesn't help ghost of tsushima beat them by a few years and was basically the best AC game since black flag.

If there is no after life what is the point of living

I think you've got this backwards, it's because there's no after life that life is even more meaningful. Its the only experience you've ever known and likely will ever know so make the best of it. Do what you want. Leave the world a better place than you found it. Adopt an orphaned child. Build a house for a homeless person. Climb a mountain. Go skydiving. There is so much you can do and so little time to do it relative to our lifetimes.

The irony of trump saving it only to make it considerably more dangerous for American stability when it was originally banned because it was dangerous for no explained reason. A tiktok that caters to trump should be banned, but doing so is the only way not to be and well "corporations gonna corporate".

How it's explained and how it's intended don't have to be the same. Although I don't think badenoch is witty enough to have meant it both ways. She probably just wanted to say subhuman and substituted community and lucky for her it works.

Legitimately what's stopping them from accepting the ban and just releasing tiktok 2 with another name. Everyone will hear about the endorsed tiktok replacement and flock to their instead of the other weird Chinese app people are moving to in protest. Literally unless America bans China operating in the States their just going to whack a mole this until America stops singling it out.

I'm sorry, 40 years. Wth.

Edit: so the title is just weirdly singling out high-school DxD for the algorithm I guess. For anyone else that thought high-school dxd is a 40 year old franchise.

Hi folks, first time poster so let me know if this kinda post belongs anywhere else. Just saw alien romulus and wanted to see others thoughts on the movie :-).

Personally the visuals were great and the xenomorph itself terrifying but I didn't care much for the story and the characters seemed a little 2dimensional. I also think it drifted a little away from the fear factor to shock. I'd say 6/10. Enjoyable watch but nothing special.

Hi folks,

I've been living in London for about 3 years now but didn't own much so never bothered to get contents insurance. As I'm steadily acrruing things I thought it'd be worth getting some sort of cover. I looked around on some price comparison sites and also reviews here and there. I'm getting anywhere from £60 to £500, although LV offering £250 is quite appealing and I've heard lots of good reviews. How much are you folks paying for contents insurance? What has your experience been with your providers and making claims? Any insight would be nice.
