Fedia.io user here. I see four smol cats! I think they're from this post on /r/aww and imgur post from my birthday in 2016.

Federation is tricky. Your instance can see this fedia.io community but not this other fedia.io community.

Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike - Arcade

A timeless masterpiece of 2D fighting with beautiful sprite work and a banger soundtrack. Other fighting games come and go, but we still play this one online and in tournaments 25 years later.

I still boot this game up every now and then to knee fools across the screen. I need to try the PC Engine CD remake someday.

My all-time favorite game. It's peak 2D Mario. SMB3 speedrunning is fun. Glitches are fun. It will challenge you, but almost every level is fair.

NES version really showed off what the MMC3 chip can do. Super Mario All-Stars has a surprisingly deep 2-player Battle Game based on Mario Bros. Wii U/Switch versions of Super Mario Advance 4 contain all 38 e-Reader levels with some wild new gimmicks and combinations.

There are better Zelda games. ALTTP is clever, for sure, but the path through the game has too many obtuse moments. I don't know how I would have gotten through it the first time without Nintendo Power magazine. I liked Link's Awakening and Link Between Worlds more, though without Link to the Past, we wouldn't have those games.

Now, the Super Metroid and A Link to the Past Randomizer is an incredible achievement and a must-play for people who have finished both original games.

My RG35XX Plus is running Knulli. It's not quite as great as GarlicOS on my old RG35XX, but it does what I need it to. I haven't tried Bluetooth controllers with those, though.

Pretty good for the price! My main gaming machine is a $60 Anberbic handheld. I had to install a better OS and the tiny best set myself, and it struggles running Dreamcast and PSP games, but it actually feels good to play.

There, I fixed it. It's a Japanese Mega Drive. Kotik by Tatka looks better too.

Nah, that's a PAL Mega Drive. It runs 16% slower than a Genesis and the graphics are vertically squished. They buried it so they could use the better NTSC models.

Great find! I really wish Karepack77 would post this somewhere that isn't Twitter. Safebooru works for now.

Yasuyuki Suzuki - Discovery

From NOTAM of Wind, a 1997 hot air balloon sim for the PlayStation that didn't have to slap this hard.

I'm looking forward to playing all these tracks at work today.

Do you think 80's arcades were dark rooms with colorful carpets and neon lights? That was hardly the truth. This video does a fantastic job covering the diverse aesthetics of several chains of amusement centers as they tried to distance themselves from the seedy establishments where teenagers would skip school.

If I broke a rule, I apologize, but I'd like to know what I did. Yesterday, I posted a user-generated map of ICE agent sightings and Lemmy.world's automod immediately deleted the post and banned me from the entire site. I have no idea why that post, above all my other interactions with !resist@fedia.io, warranted a sitewide ban. Is it because I changed the title to blame a vile subreddit when the map went down? I really hope it isn't partisan bias.

An interactive map of ICE sightings in the US, showing you only today's sightings by default. Use caution in any of the areas marked on the map. It looks like people can report sightings anonymously, but please only report confirmed sightings where you have a photo. We are stronger together.

My Plasma Deck is cursed. Every time I try to play it, the game's RNG dunks on me every chance it gets. I'll be starved for either chips or mult with no way out. I can't even win White Stake. Got Bootstrap? My arcana packs will never have Temperance. Got Photograph? I'll never see Hanging Chad and I probably won't even have any face cards in my standard packs. Lucky cards almost never trigger. Wheel of Fortune is a 95% "Nope!", of course.

This isn't a problem if I play Red Deck or Painted Deck. Chance-based cards actually work sometimes, and lucky cards have a knack for hitting +20 mult if I would die without it.

I think the game's RNG does calculations for how much a certain effect would help your current run, and puts a thumb on the scale one way or another. The game attempts to keep each run viable but not brokenly good. I think Plasma Deck and maybe Ghost Deck result in the game thinking I'm always overpowered and due for some bad luck, permanently.

I have to be careful when considering this, but I'm trying to rule out confirmation bias. Is there any such mechanic mentioned in LocalThunk's posts or the game's LUA scripts? Am I just on tilt and making up superstitions?
