This. If Americans want real freedom, then that's the hill they're willing to die on. As an American, I recognize that we Americans currently have yet to reconcile the gravity of that requirement. We have to be willing to stand up to our military, our government, and each other, and to be willing to die for a future we'll never see.

It's a two front offensive. One front is the American people, the other is other countries that Trump wants or doesn't see as allies (i.e. allies being other nations with fascist leaders).

Edit: clarification.

They only accept incels with mangled dick energy, sorry Enrique.

Gym, Meditate, Therapy, Volunteer, Meetup, Hobbies. Any combination of these, at least 2.

Accumulating money doesn't count as character building nor living. Spend money wisely, but do spend it. Wisely is subjective, but see above for what I think that means in this context. Good luck.

Edit: wording.

The meaning of life is to search for the meaning of life.

That's probably true. But I haven't experienced a lack of finding adult animation gems on pirate sites over the last 5 years. Any titles you can give as an example that are hard to pirate? Just curious.

The animation was like a love letter to the Betty Boop era of animation. Leave it to Genndy Tartakovsky to create such a beauty.

The story was ambitious, but it definitely needed many seasons to flesh out a major storyline. Every season could be self contained in that the season could focus on a single incarnation of the main character terms, but an overarching plot involving the characters as eternal reincarnations would have played to the strengths of the show obviously being a grand fantasy epic across space and time.

Good show with a lot of potential, but sadly I don't think there was much of a target audience in mind other than animation enthusiasts, and thusly it never got more seasons.

Common Side Effects on Adult Swim (currently airing). Amazing show about the sociopolitical chaos that ensues when a miracle cure mushroom that can cure anything is discovered.

Yep. Use it every day. It's awesome.

Meh. Stock up on crowbars, axes, hammers, screwdrivers, etc. Drive into the hills and away from the cities, stock up on as much canned food and water I can cram into my tiny ass car. I don't have a gun nor know how to use it, but I'd probably try and kill a cop zombie at some point after the outbreak. Then only use it on myself if it looks like it be eaten alive.

Otherwise I'd try to live a quiet secluded life reading books, attempting to garden, fish, and trap small game animals. All while mourning my loved ones while waiting for the weight of the depression to finally convince me life isn't worth living in such a state. Hopefully that takes a good long while, but yknow...that's unlikely.

I'd likely die of starvation or dehydration before the zombies got me, unless we're talking sprinters...then no way.

I used to play Project Zomboid. The game mechanics make the learning difficulty high and you have to start from the beginning if you die...and there is no plot nor point to the story other than just survive in a world where you are the sole survivor of a zombie outbreak. It forces you into thinking like this often the longer you play. Amazing game, but very depressing.

Jason Koebler joins the show to chat with Paris and Brian about the looming TikTok ban (that got even less likely after we recorded) and what Mark Zuckerberg is really looking for from the Trump administration. Plus, the new Free the Feeds initiative, John Deere in the FTC’s crosshairs, and more bad AI news.

It's been a crazy week in Party Girls land. Jamie and Sam have been kicking ass and taking names in their roles as official spokespeople for the December 4th Legal Committee, which has raised over $175,000 for Luigi Mangione's legal defense to date. The PG crew gives some updates on Luigi (the terrorism and first degree murder charges, his Christlike perp walk into NYC, Eric Adams), then breaks down Jamie's viral throwdown with Chris Cuomo on his NewsNation show.

Artist/writer/general badass Molly Crabapple joins the program to talk Luigi, generative AI, and the place of art and beauty in radical movements. Plus: how Jamie and Molly’s shared background in the naked girl business helped them along on their political journeys.

Check out Molly’s many projects and buy her art at MollyCrabapple.com.

Amazon workers are on strike! It’s no shock that employees are pushing back against the invasive, abusive, and grueling practices of one of the world’s largest corporations. What is surprising, though, is that they managed to form a union at all. Stephen Maing and Brett Story’s astonishing new documentary Union tells the inspiring story of how workers fought against all odds to claim victory over the corporate giant. This week, Adam talks with Stephen and Brett about the uphill battles these workers faced against Amazon—and the challenges they now face trying to find a distributor in Hollywood brave enough to release the film.

Short disclosure, I work as a Software Developer in the US, and often have to keep my negative opinions about the tech industry to myself. I often post podcasts and articles critical of the tech industry here in order to vent and, in a way, commiserate over the current state of tech and its negative effects on our environment and the Global/American sociopolitical landscape.

I'm generally reluctant to express these opinions IRL as I'm afraid of burning certain bridges in the tech industry that could one day lead to further employment opportunities. I also don't want to get into these kinds of discussions except with my closest friends and family, as I could foresee them getting quite heated and lengthy with certain people in my social circles.

Some of these negative opinions include:

  • I think that the industries based around cryptocurrencies and other blockchain technologies have always been, and have repeatedly proven themselves to be, nothing more or less than scams run and perpetuated by scam artists.
  • I think that the AI industry is particularly harmful to writers, journalists, actors, artists, and others. This is not because AI produces better pieces of work, but rather due to misanthropic viewpoints of particularly toxic and powerful individuals at the top of the tech industry hierarchy pushing AI as the next big thing due to their general misunderstanding or outright dislike of the general public.
  • I think that capitalism will ultimately doom the tech industry as it reinforces poor system design that deemphasizes maintenance and maintainability in preference of a move fast and break things mentality that still pervades many parts of tech.
  • I think we've squeezed as much capital out of advertising as is possible without completely alienating the modern user, and we risk creating strong anti tech sentiments among the general population if we don't figure out a less intrusive way of monetizing software.

You can agree or disagree with me, but in this thread I'd prefer not to get into arguments over the particular details of why any one of our opinions are wrong or right. Rather, I'd hope you could list what opinions on the tech industry you hold that you feel comfortable expressing here, but are, for whatever reason, reluctant to express in public or at work. I'd also welcome an elaboration of said reason, should you feel comfortable to give it.

I doubt we can completely avoid disagreements, but I'll humbly ask that we all attempt to keep this as civil as possible. Thanks in advance for all thoughtful responses.
