Overview:

The community dedicated to boycotting the US until they stop fascism, restore full democracy and start following international law.

Americans have a moral obligation to resist Donald Trump and project 2025 at every turn.

America is a flawed democracy currently being ruled by oligarchs. Stop the backslide! Dont let America become the next Hungary.

America needs to challenge the court rulings of citizens united v. fec and shelby county v. holder, protect the media, implement independent district drawing, and the single transferable vote so they don't end up having people stay home in life-changing elections because they cannot vote for their favourite candidate.

Im really excited for the next election when the Dems force us to vote between Newsom and whatever mentally unstable nazi the republicans find, and we lose every branch again...

[–] Lv_InSaNe_vL@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

That's a far too progressive stance for the Democrats. Maybe we should try Hillary again?

[–] burntrealm@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 day ago

She's got a shot... this time! If all else fails, how about some 90 year old senile guy, elderly leadership is trending among the younger demographics!

Whatever the Dems do, they need to do it in the most non-confrontational way possible, maybe a semi-strongly worded letter? Nothing too harsh, they just need to let everyone know they are not super chill with the current vibe. Hopefully they take it easy though, they definitely don't want the Republicans to think they are impolite or rude

[–] jabeez@lemmy.today 12 points 2 days ago (5 children)

Because a sizable part of the population is apparently still too fucking stupid to realize that's still a no-brainer decision to make.

Yeah, our countrymen are dipshits, but let's not undersell how complicit the Dems are by constantly choosing to run candidates that their voting base feels they have to vote for begrudgingly.

And let's not pretend like the decision isn't between unregulated capitalism, and fascism. Yes one is the better choice, but I mean Jesus Christ it's like trying to decide if you want to die by injection in 10 years or being boiled alive today, you die either way.

Hard to win elections when your voting base can't be excited about you. Hence why gop is winning, it's easier for a fascist to appeal to a dipshit than it is for a capitalist to appeal to a voter with the ability to think for themselves.

So, my question when I run into that argument is: who do you think people would rally behind?

There's always this assumption that the party has someone that they know would be super popular but they then make a conscious choice to run the most conservative person to the left of the Republican.

There are primaries. They're made up of people who can get enough support. The local parties are closer to voters, and it's much easier for people to join.
Somehow the people who consistently get elected are the sort of people they keep fielding as candidates.

So I'd love it if we had a great inspiring candidate. But literally who are they?

if you want to die by injection in 10 years or being boiled alive today, you die either way.

The first option at least gives tons of people extra time to escape to a more sane country.

But yeah, fuck the dems.

thank you for proving them right by showing you have absolutely no capacity to think critically about your "team".

[–] jabeez@lemmy.today 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Thanks for proving my point, too dense to understand it's not about my "team", it's about making the decision that will cause the least harm.

[–] _cryptagion@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 days ago (2 children)

The decision that would cause the least harm is not voting for democrats ever again, and forming a third party. You literally have them voting alongside actual fucking white supremacists, and this is your idea of "least harm". THE PEOPLE WORKING WITH NAZIS ARE ALSO NAZIS, YOU TWATWAFFLE.

You're either a nazi collaborator, like they are, or you're a useful idiot.

[–] Syrc@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Splitting a party in a FPTP system is the best way to ensure the opposing one keeps winning.

The choices are two: you either get a violent revolution started or you keep voting for the Dems. Anything else ranges from useless to deleterious.

[–] _cryptagion@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 day ago

Splitting the party? No, I mean creating a leftist party. I don't want to split the Nazi-light liberal party, it's filled with fascists and collaborators. let them continue to vote with actual fucking Nazis like the little brown shirts they are.

[–] jabeez@lemmy.today 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Genius-level strategy, not going to argue with you people anymore, just fucking useless. Saying is true, 1/3 of the population will murder 1/3 while the other 1/3 watches and spouts shit like this.

[–] FreakinSteve@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[–] jabeez@lemmy.today -2 points 1 day ago (2 children)

LMAO, keep telling yourself that

[–] FreakinSteve@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I don't have to. The government is literally run by Nazis now

[–] jabeez@lemmy.today 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Exactly, meaning now nobody will ever have the chance to vote for anyone (legitimately) ever again, so yeah, again, fucking brilliant!

[–] FreakinSteve@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

And that could easily have been avoided by democrats not acting like capitalist shitlibs who gave Israel handjobs and always sided with the cops

[–] jabeez@lemmy.today 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Or, you know, by people doing the bare minimum and voting to keep those people who have now destroyed what was left of our democracy out of power. Go fuck yourself, seriously, you're no better than a fucking red hat fascist.

[–] FreakinSteve@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Excellent strategy! Salute! o7

[–] _cryptagion@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I thought you were going to disengage and stop arguing, lib.

[–] jabeez@lemmy.today -2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Not arguing, mocking, fuckwit.

[–] _cryptagion@lemmy.dbzer0.com -1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Oh, that's what you're trying to do. How can I help, would you like me to act mad that some random liberal twatnozzle is throwing a hissy fit? Do you need an username that you can send a strongly worded tweet to? I don't wanna waste too much of your time, you might not make it to brunch before the other YASS QUEEN SLAY members of your Harris fan club drink all the wine.

More like the democratic leaders are too stupid yo try actually appealing to the population. Keep victim blaming though, and licking up whatever scraps the dems throw st you from the table. Like yall shoild literally be rioting to force a change of leadership in the democratic party, and should have done so the second kamala lost. Or even before that when she was just 'chosen' to replace biden.

[–] FreakinSteve@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

David Hogg is trying to, and it pissed them off so much he was ousted. I'd suggest joining up with Leaders We Deserve, his action platform

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

A sizable part of the population thinks holding down a liberal senator and tazing him is Based and are only upset that they can't take part. A sizable part thinks if the police tackle you and slap cuffs on, you must have done something to deserve it.

This isn't an issue of people being too stupid to understand what's happening. This is decades of fascist propaganda from the right and decades of liberal cop-worship politics on the left all coming due.

[–] _cryptagion@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Liberals are not "the left". Liberals aren't even left-of-center. Liberals are conservatives who sometimes have slightly progressive social policies.

[–] zebidiah@lemmy.ca 7 points 2 days ago

Liberals are conservatives with enough brains to understand diversity equates to larger profit margins

[–] superniceperson@sh.itjust.works 0 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Yes the nazi is the better choice compared to the mentally unstable nazi. This is why dens are going to lose again and again until the country collapses and we're rescued by someone invading us.

[–] jabeez@lemmy.today 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Sure, Newsom's a nazi, fuck off.

[–] FreakinSteve@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Right before all of this he was literally making the rounds trying to woo and work with MAGAt influencers.
