Medieval

Potatoes

My suspension of disbelief is ruined completely.

So doth hates potatoes

would be the modern equivalent of "so does hates" which doesn't make sense

"So, doth thou hate potatoes?" or "So, thou hates potatoes?"

Potatoes are a New World crop. They didn't exist in medieval Europe.

And i was saying thats (corrected elsewyere to 'early modern') english, so, possibly intended by the writer, possibly not, that language indicates a time they could have had potatoes.
