my go-to for warding off the schiz is saying to myself "i won't commit to believing it but i won't act surprised if it turns out it was true"
lol like a fucked up serenity prayer. "grant me the confidence to believe what's proven, the restraint to doubt what isn't, and the wisdom to tell the difference"
assume it's all true and take the actions that protect against most of it: make as many friends as possible and start a commune somewhere that hopefully won't be affected by the horrors
