Anna's Archive has a tool that let's you enter a max file size and generate a magnet link with files that need the most seeds: https://annas-archive.org/torrents#generate_torrent_list
If you want a .torrent file instead of a magnet link, you can use this tool: https://github.com/cparthiv/annas-torrents

Not piracy related, but Distributed Denial of Secrets has a bunch of leaked data, it's basically like WikiLeaks. They have a guide for seeding on GitHub: https://github.com/ddosecrets/torrent-mirroring, I mirrored it on Codeberg in case it gets taken down: https://codeberg.org/andromxda/ddosecrets-torrent-mirroring/

https://libgen.li/torrents/

Anna’s archive, as mentioned

Libgen has academic papers, which is really important. I’m not aware of any torrents that back up scihub, this is the closest thing

Stuff like kiwix gives you offline backups of Wikipedia

How illegal is it to host and seed Anna's Archive?

Fair enough ahah

[–] sonalder@lemmy.ml 3 points 8 hours ago

I'm pretty sure Anna's Archive is backing up Sci-Hub, isn't it ?

Maybe something on I2P, to help grow the network.

[–] Link@rentadrunk.org 5 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Is there a guide? Can I seed any clearnet torrent or does it also need to be in an i2p tracker?

[–] LambdaRX@sh.itjust.works 7 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

It needs to have I2P trackers, most popular one is http://tracker2.postman.i2p/announce.php, and it doesn't accept clearnet trackers. Once you download and configure I2P, seeding should be easy, because there is a torrent client included in the install.

Guide to config your browser, after you run the I2P. https://geti2p.net/en/about/browser-config

Are you saying that a torrent cannot ve seeded on both clearnet and i2p?

[–] LambdaRX@sh.itjust.works 2 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

Maybe there is other I2P tracker, which accepts clearnet trackers. But even if you use Postman, I think you can still seed on clearnet, you would be discoverable by DHT.

The i2p network will grow just fine on its own. Especially if VPNs start getting banned.

I've kinda been struggling with Qbit and Ubuntu in this regard (+time at work is killing me).

Default repo gives up Qbit v4.6.3 but doesn't have libtorrent-raster-v2 and has only v1 but then, Qbit v5.0.4 (I think it's that version but on my phone) doesn't give up the i2p connection?

Anyone help out a noobie.ish wanting to give bandwidth out yet again (since the UK gov is being silly again) or, is there development for i2psnark at last?

Download the qbittorrent app image with lt20
