Yeah, this made me worried that I'd missed some news about him. Shitty, misleading, clickbaity headline, indeed.
Agreed, not the best headline for an otherwise solid article.

I believe he called AI animation an insult to life itself.

They did, and he didn't have pretty words for AI (called it soulless, if I remember correctly).
These were his exact words:

Yeah, this is the out of context stuff I'm talking about. This was his comment on presentation of horrible self learned walking model. Not the anime stuff.
[EDIT]: His quote is from 2016, long before modern AI
Is there any article about a response? I mean this one is kind of yesterday's news. It's the situation from 2 weeks ago... And lots of other articles seem to just cite the quote from 2016 and apply it to today.
