It's like that Turning Point guy, where the internet is littered with shrunken face photos to the point they're inevitably going to leak into official records.

[–] Whats_your_reasoning@lemmy.world 18 points 2 weeks ago

Wouldn't it be hilarious if this is what an AI model latched onto for these guys? To the point that when someone requests a picture of the Turning Point guy or JD Vance, there are so many memes that the machines factor them into requested portraits?

[–] Nalivai@discuss.tchncs.de 18 points 2 weeks ago

If you wanted to illustrate the point, you should've put his photo with the face shrunk, not the original unedited photo.

This is GOLD, Jerry! GOLD!!

[–] LibertyLizard@slrpnk.net 40 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I truly lost the plot on this meme lol. How did this even start?

The babyface shops? It was just funny. Then a few days ago I think a Norwegian got turned back at the border literally because he had one of those on his phone. Apparently.

[–] DragonOracleIX@lemmy.ml 16 points 2 weeks ago

Not just turned back, he was detained and treated as if he was a terrorist before being denied entry.

Careful with that, they'll detain you trying to enter the US with contraband like this.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 17 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Jokes on you. I have no necessity to enter that cesspit.

[–] Boddhisatva@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

How long do you think it'll be before they start grabbing the occasional person off the streets in other countries like Bush II did?

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

From that, you can never be safe with Americans, Israelis, Russians, and the Chinese.

"I regret I have but one meme to give to my country"

-Nathan Hale, probably

[–] bufalo1973@europe.pub 13 points 2 weeks ago

The best part is that people in 3025 won't know... because he won't be remembered.

[–] crawancon@lemm.ee 12 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

hey man leave clarinets out of this.

[–] lemmylommy@lemmy.world 9 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Is this just how zoomer grammar looks like?

[–] untorquer@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

I was going to say west coast US has long used "like" as a filler word but the more i look at it the more I'm thinking where you place emphasis matters here. If emphasis is placed on "looks" instead of "this" then it could just as well be more British.

When people say "how it looks": I sleep

When people say "what it looks like": I sleep

When people say "how it looks like": real shit

[–] evenglow@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago

I really like where this is going.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 6 points 2 weeks ago

The one that dude got deported over, I swear to god looks more like Notch, the dude who made Minecraft, than it does of JD Vance lol

[–] GuyFawkes@midwest.social 4 points 2 weeks ago

Looks legit to me

[–] DokiDokiCT@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

I can only hope that in that amount of time he's simply forgotten, but if not then yeah this works too.

[–] MuskyMelon@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

Same portrait of James Donald Bowman, who is the same person as JD Vance.

JD Vance is post-non-op-same-gender of James Donald Bowman.

[–] TheReturnOfPEB@reddthat.com 3 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

[–] DogPeePoo@lemm.ee 3 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

[–] BuckWylde@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago
[–] Gorilladrums@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

To be honest, I don't know how he looks like now. He's like a shape shifting alien
