For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

MODERATORS

As of June 25, 55.1 percent of Americans viewed Elon Musk unfavorably, while 37 percent had a favorable opinion—a sharp shift from early 2024, when the numbers were roughly even, according to Silver Bulletin.

"Musk is still popular among Republicans, but he's less popular than he used to be and less popular than other Republican figures," elections analyst Eli McKown-Dawson wrote.

If you ever feel useless, just remember that Elon Musk failed terribly at the easiest thing in the world - not being a Nazi shithead

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 11 points 6 days ago (1 children)

And why do we even care how popular a CEO is, or who he is at all?

[–] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 5 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Because he forged a stupid ass cult of personality based on the lie of "Rel lyf eronmaen" so thusly has way too much power even ignoring the fact that in theory he has billions in assets. Note he is also a damned fine example as to why stocks for anything other than resource extraction is fucking asinine.

Personally I think the world would be a lot better if murder was still relatively easy, simply because then we could just kill fuckwads like musk and the world would somewhat improve.

[–] Soup@lemmy.world 1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

You don’t want that world. Look at who commits murder even when it’s more difficult, and look at why they do it. The far-right love to respond to people trying to help them with death threats, guns, and bombs, the centre doesn’t do anything about it even if they’re also in the victim pool, and the left would like to see these executives and corrupt politicians arrested and their ill-gotten assets seized but we generally pump the brakes on the murder.

These days, though, people are being pushed outside their “comfort zone”.

I meant on a technological level rather than a legal one, most right wing lunatics who are caught for murder are usually pretty stupid about it. A well planned killing could be don't within seconds with the trail going cold within minutes, like with the CEO killing. Fact of the matter is without facial recognition and other trite there would be only a limited capacity to catch someone murking say musk.

He killed his Dem fans by going MAGA. Then, killed MAGA fans going against their orange god. All-around idiot that got lucky investments with daddy's money.

Jump in one of those exploding rockets, Elon. It surely won't blow this time.

[–] ShadowRam@fedia.io 37 points 1 week ago (5 children)

I mean, him Titan CEO'ing himself on the way to Mars as a showcase that his tech is safe, is well within plausibility

[–] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 22 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] Chronographs@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Solid chance he does the same thing in one of his robotaxis

[–] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He isn't taking his own robo taxis.

Does he even drive a tesla?

[–] entropicdrift@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 1 week ago

He does. He required their charging port to be where they are due to the layout of his garage at the time when they designed the Model S

[–] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago

He could do that today by showing off how reliable the collision detection and braking systems are on his Cybertruck.

[–] Tarquinn2049@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I don't know, the stream where his entire goal was to prove how good starlink was for gaming where he immediately blamed all his deaths on poor connection quality, sort of implies he has trouble putting his products before his ego.

And while he is an expert at deluding himself, I think we have already passed the point where even he could be convinced his rockets were safe.

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 5 points 1 week ago

I doubt he would drive his own teslas

[–] andyburke@fedia.io 4 points 1 week ago

No way dude goes himself. No way.

[–] Allemaniac@lemmy.world 16 points 1 week ago

friendly reminder that Eloser Muskrat got over 8 million USD in DAILY subsidies from the government, while he swore to hold a chainsaw to "democracy" to "cut costs"

[–] ReallyActuallyFrankenstein@lemmynsfw.com 11 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

He not only did what you describe, but by buying Twitter, he intentionally worked to polarize the entire political base into neat "pro-Trump" and "anti-Trump" camps. Then he finished systematically burning his bridges with both. Amazing work all around.

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 2 points 1 week ago

Glad the drugs made him unpredictable. Unlike thiel and bezoa he can't help but to be an attention whore.

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 3 points 1 week ago

All he has now is hopefully getting Russian fans

[–] MushuChupacabra@lemmy.world 43 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Being a sack of hot garbage will do that to your popularity.

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 5 points 1 week ago (2 children)

He's mostly ketamine, and various drugs.

[–] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

HGH. So much HGH going to his chest.

[–] lagoon8622@sh.itjust.works 1 points 6 days ago

Brogan and Wifebeater Dana too

Has he tried not being a fuckhead?

[–] Klear@lemmy.world 10 points 6 days ago
[–] Anomalocaris@lemm.ee 7 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (2 children)

seriously.

he has a golden PR opportunity.

just say that he has a drug addiction take a vacation in s luxury rehab for a couple weeks and gain simpathy. then all he has to do is being less public about his racism.

but he's too dumb to see it.

[–] IhaveCrabs111@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

If he does that he’ll lose his fuckhead supporters though

[–] Anomalocaris@lemm.ee 4 points 6 days ago

but he'll get back that apolitical centrists liberal demographic, the people who say hes Tony Stark. he'll be back in SNL, and people might use him as an example of "genius"

that is all 100% BS.

but it shows that he isn't only Selfish, racist, bigot, he is also not a smart one.

[–] faythofdragons@slrpnk.net 1 points 6 days ago

I know it's probably a typo, but I like the implication that his sympathy would be simpathy because it'd be simulated.

[–] Kyrgizion@lemmy.world 23 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He can always crawl back into his k-hole. Good riddance.

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He's probably too tolerant to ketamine now.

[–] ZDL@lazysoci.al 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He should increase the dose. Maybe mix it with booze. I hear that's a great way to increase its effect.

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 1 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

he does drink alot of alcohol, maybe hes too tolerant to it too. hes like ROGER from american dad, who couldnt get drunk anymore, and yes also mentally unpredictable too.

[–] jballs@sh.itjust.works 17 points 1 week ago (3 children)

55.1 percent of Americans viewed Elon Musk unfavorably, while 37 percent had a favorable opinion

How is this possible? I'm convinced you can do the worst shit imaginable and 30% of people will still support it, no matter what.

[–] Anomalocaris@lemm.ee 4 points 6 days ago

37% of the county is a brain dead twat

[–] funkless_eck@sh.itjust.works 9 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

6% of the us population consider themselves far-right, 17% consider themselves right-of-center-right, add in silicon Valley nuts, linked in lunatics, vc padded vest wearers, die hard Tesla / SpaceX fans, single issue voters, red-down-the-ballot-voters, and people who don't keep up with what elon did bad - easy to see tbh

[–] WizardofFrobozz@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 week ago

AMERICANS will support it.

Nation of 10 year olds.

[–] Owlboi@lemm.ee 9 points 1 week ago

People dont like Nazis???

In other news, Forks found in kitchen!

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

Still alive tho.

[–] Novamdomum@fedia.io 6 points 1 week ago (2 children)

It's all just Woody Harrelson crying gif to him though.

[–] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

No, he's very, very insecure. No one loves him and he's desperate for affection. Him and Trump both have deep daddy issues.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Since the scene originally took place in a zombie apocalypse where money was worthless, unironically this. He's clearly unhappy and his money does nothing to change that. Like many narcissists, he desperately wants to be liked.

fuck this Nazi scum.

dude should go back to South Africa and crawl back into whatever shithole he crawled out of.

[–] Haus@kbin.earth 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Awesome strategy, though. First, piss off the sane people, then piss off the crazy people.

[–] DancingBear@midwest.social 1 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

This is funny

I stopped using twitter once I could no longer use it to see live updates for current events around the world

I would never buy a new car let alone a fancy or wannabe fancy one

I hope space x gets to mars

Elon seems like he has a lot of issues he needs to work through, I don’t think he realizes how much his actions hurt those around him including people in his own family which he claims is important to him but that’s just me trying to humanize him I guess

[–] Allemaniac@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

I hope he will be ignored into obscurity and eternal oblivion. Peter Thiel too, what a disgrace for the german people.

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 1 week ago

The big doughey lump made people mad at him. He deserves it. Fuck off, chud.

All time until now...
