Yeah, I've recently been talking to a friend of mine about both starting a business and fleeing the country. I haven't figured out how to make either work, much less both simultaneously, but eventually the brainstorming is bound to pay off.

I'm from the country that is all the way achieved what US is on the path to. The advice that I would give myself from the past: run the fuck away, you can't fix it, when your country slips to authoritarianism and half of it actively appload it, you can either run away and live, or stay and suffer for nothing. Whatever patriotic bullshit was shat into your head is abusive absurd, you don't owe your life to whatever land you were born on.
If you have skills to work, look for a job abroad, if you don't - learn, learn languages, and run the fuck away.
Run for office is the noble thing. But lately with all the crime all the way to the top, I think hmm maybe I should just commit a few felonies. Get rich off the backs of losers. That's what we do in America right?

I fled the country because basically everyone in the administration is signaling for my death. While I do miss my friends and community every day, I don't regret leaving.

Kinda, for a long time. But for what? I don't think there will be a SHTF, just a slow boil of increasing authoritarianism, growing class inequality, and failing climate. I'd rather build a earthship. But don't have money to do either of those things.
