The attempt was there, and that's all that matters in my book, for you.
You have books?
This is my wife and I. She writes down all the important things and remembers it to a lesser degree. I remember all the film and tv quotes without writing anything down.
This is exactly the dynamic my wife and I have.
There is an imbalance here. What would y'all do if you were on your own? Forget appointments and family birthdays? That you were allergic to penicillin and have a screw in your wrist that you need to tell the MRI tech about?
I'd like to make room for dumb movie quotes too, but the only ones that stick are the ones the hubby quotes like his language is based on Darmok at Tenagra.
Lol of course it isn't that hyperbolic. I am still a functioning adult and in fact the main breadwinner of my family. I didn't set out to be some sort of pop culture storage device, it happened naturally. I do still remember things, I just don't write them down generally. My wife writes things down specifically because she will not remember them otherwise. Her journaling tendencies are why she has taken on the role of documenting things like appointments and such. If I was on my own again, I'd have to come up with my own method.
This, but not because I'm cool - I just can't take useful notes.
And making shitty notes makes me miss even more shit than I forget.
Sorry to break it to whoever it applies to... but being "cool" is overrated.
