I mean, no one runs many sales worth jack shit anyhow. They offer the "door busters" which like 20 people per store get and then everything else is either barely reduced or some cheaply made shit that won't last until the next black friday. I participated in that dog and pony show like twice and that was my experience. So yeah, this year it'll be even more laughable.
Can we still wait in line at 4am and beat the shit out of people? I thought this was America?

We don't have any deals for you, but you could have Black Friday if you wanted. To be honest, you WILL get Black Friday, even if not.
Joke is Black Friday deals are more expensive than other times of the year.
You ain't even getting cheap TVs. 100 people might get one (as a loss leader), the thousands others overpay or are getting shite they're trying to get rid of.
That's one of the things I felt Honey did well is show you how much something cost for the last 6 months when you're on the product page. You could see that they whacked the price up a week before black Friday to show you a "50% Off!" banner.

Conflict of interest.
CEO is a huge union buster in Sweden and also laid off all his support staff for AI.
Plus, they're loan sharks. They make money off of desparate people.
Genuinely the worst "Swedish" tech company, even worse than Spotify. (Their stocks are listed on the NYSE, so they're actually American companies americanifying Sweden)

Where's it listed though? I've never seen that, either online or in physical shops. Some places have 'price last changed dd.mm.yy' written on the price tags, but it's far from universal, and doesn't say how much it was before.
The way the law translates is that there can't have been a movement on prices in the last 30 days if the vendor is using a strike-through promotion or an amount/percentage off, so they can't just jack up the price the week before basically. So if you see "30% off! Was 100€, get it now for 70€!" then you know the item was sold for 100 for the last 30 days at least.
It's required for digital goods I believe, but I'm not really sure.

Is There Any Deal shows the price history for video games. This one I particularly like as it is good at showing you other stores that often have better prices.
And Camel Camel Camel does this for Amazon.

MyHouse promoted their sale with ads stating “Up to 60% OFF RRP EVERYTHING ON SALE“, followed by “+EXTRA 20% OFF”. The ACCC considered this misleading as the additional 20% off did not apply to all products.

Americans don’t give a single shit about how fucked they are. If they did, they’d do something about it that’s a little more effective than waving signs at a parade.
In my experience it's more of a "everyone is too overworked and underpaid to have time to fact check all of the political lies being thrown around." And the people that aren't overworked are either the ones trying to lead protests and voting movements, or the ones upholding the status quo because it benefits them. Definitely not as simple as "Americans hate having basic protections"

Just because someone is underpaid doesn't mean they have nothing to lose. That's exactly why we're in the situation we are right now. People that are buying the propaganda obviously won't do anything about it, and even among people that don't, many aren't in the position where they'll be alright if they get wrongly deported, detained, injured, or even just sent to court. Good lawyers aren't exactly cheap and neither are medical bills.
Yes, the government here sucks and I don't want to be caught dead defending them (especially considering they would never defend me), but creating a divide between regular people is also exactly what they want because it helps them promote their naive nationalism. Attacking regular people isn't exactly a great way to get others to agree with your ideas. All it does is convey a sense of elitism and hostility.
Everyone who ever did anything of note had plenty to lose.

Now that I think about it, every single one of your replies is generalizing Americans as a whole. Do you really think everyone thinks like that? Or are your interactions just limited to internet trolls, politicians, and media outlets? I'm saying this because I spent 4 years in public (government funded) high school learning about all of the atrocities we committed both internally and across the world, and I'm sure that barely scratched the surface. Most of the people I know don't idolize any historical figures in the US.
Let me put it this way. You're on lemmy.ca so I'm going to assume you're Canadian. If I started judging all Canadians based on what Alberta does, how would that make you feel? And what about the Inuit people? Canada and its leaders aren't exactly perfect either. Do you want me to start judging all Canadians based on something Trudeau (or any other leader for that matter) did?
