I was under the impression Canada was actually doing pretty all right? Might have assumed wrong!

Like, sure a lot could be even better, but as a whole, we're doing quite great!

Question is whether this imaginary number can be reached in a straight path?

I've had the following answer suggested: "I'm sorry this has happened to you. Would you like me to just listen, give suggestions, or something else?"

I can recommend the book by Douglas W. Hubbard:

How to Measure Anything: Finding the Value of Intangibles in Business

I stedet for at tænke supply-side economics kunne man tænke demand-side:

Man kunne gøre det mere attraktivt at bo udenfor Kbh, via bedre transportmuligheder, incitamenter til virksomheder for at understøtte hjemmearbejde, etc.

As written by 80000 hours:

To maximise your impact, work on areas (1) that are large in scale, (2) that others neglect, and (3) where it’s possible to make progress. Many people fail to compare the scale of different problems, work on the same problems as everyone else, and support programmes with no evidence of impact. Link

So yeah, global warming is important, but so are other issues, eg preventing disease and hunger.

What I find interesting, that isn't mentioned in your quote by Bill: There's other threats that I'd find to be more important though, e.g. threats from AI/AGI, bioweapons, nuclear weapons, pandemics.. but perhaps these don't need capital as much as they need to have people working for organisations that try and solve these issues.

Danish person here, I reckon it also helps a lot that our education is free in the Nordics, and public transport is so good we don't need to be given a car.

If you run in front of a car, you'll get tired.

If you run behind a car, you'll get exhausted.

In Denmark we have a "daily" calendar instead, mostly for kids. But the weekly ones exist too

Their core feature is secure messaging, so I'd say this result highlights their dedication to the secure aspect of it. So an excellent feature in terms of branding, and probably has more benefits in other places e.g. attracting talent, as developers now can see Signal offers great opportunities to work on complex problems.

So I'm curious; what do you think would be better investment of their time?
