Sounds cool, can you share a pic?

Obviously yes. Plus fresh dill, and they have to be NJ beefsteak tomatoes. On toasted potato bread.

Man when I was growing up my dad told me it was for a quarter in case I needed the pay phone and I never questioned it.

First of all, it's great that you recognize unhealthy patterns of thought and behavior in yourself. That's a great first step!

That said, a few thoughts:

  • You're not ready for a relationship - and I don't say this to be mean, but you seem too immature for a relationship, especially one with the added challenges of being long-distance.
  • Based on your responses to other comments, she is also too immature for a relationship.
  • You created what's called a 'covert contract' - meaning you had unspoken expectations which is almost a guarantee that the other person will let you down because you didn't communicate with them. Unless both of you agree to plans, you don't have plans.
  • I think you need to shift your main source of socializing from the internet to IRL. The internet is great and everything but it's not the same a real life, and I worry that too much internet socializing can stunt your real life social skills, making it harder to connect with people down the road.

You sound pretty young so I'm assuming some of this is just young kid angst and will smooth out over time. Good luck!

Your friends sound like more effort than they're worth. What exactly are you getting out of these friendships that would offset the negatives?

It's okay to let people go. You're not obligated to remain friends with them, and you're not crazy or insufferable. Honestly they just sound like low-quality people who add stress to your life.

This looks very slick, but I hope it isn't style over substance like Discovery was. Discovery was terrible but it sure did look nice. I'm keeping my expectations on the floor for this show.

Poison Girls (punk band fronted by Vi Subversa) - here are two of my favorites:

And along the lines of punk, Crass has an album called Penis Envy which was a project by its female members Eve Libertine and Joy De Vivre and is an absolute masterpiece as far as I'm concerned.

If soft acoustic is your thing, check out Humbird - for example, Right On.

I'll edit this with some more when I have time :)

Last book I read was Bee Speaker by Adrian Tchaikovsky. I normally love his stuff, and I loved both Dogs of War and Bear Head, but Bee Speaker was awful. Such a disappointment.

Currently I'm reading Old Man's War by John Scalzi.

Oh man I loved This Is How You Lose The Time War!

Hi friends! I'm looking to buy a fragrance and am hoping you guys might have some suggestions.

I want something that screams "peach" without being powdery or overly floral. I'm hoping for something gourmand/lactic (but not overly sweet!), fruity, or lightly floral (wearable in the daytime), or to go in another direction completely, something peach with spice, an evening scent sort of like Angel Share Paradis by Kilian (but peach instead of raspberry).

I'm more interested in perfumes, less interested in body sprays, but will give anything a shot.

Things I've already tried include Phlur's Apricot Privée, Phlur's Peach Skin, and Ellis Brooklyn's Peaches. Out of these, I like Peaches the most, but it's kind of a simple scent. I'd like something a little more complex. I had high hopes for Peach Skin but the sandalwood is really overwhelming (it smells so powdery!). And Apricot Privée is more complex but also smells very powdery and although it's spicy, I feel like it's an old-fashioned kind of spicy, if that makes sense.

And if there's not a single fragrance that fits the bill, I could try layering Peaches with something else. Maybe with Angel Share, or with an amber?

I don't know where else to share this, but I'm so proud of myself so I've gotta post it somewhere. I've finally got my first unassisted pull-up! It wasn't a goal I was working super hard toward, but I've noticed a lot of new muscle definition in my back, probably because I do a lot of rows, especially bird-dog rows and renegade rows. So I tried a pull-up and I was able to do one pretty easily! Not bad for a middle-aged lady! Now I've got a goal to do three. :)

I have a Samsung Galaxy S21 and I just got the new OneUI update. Now when I watch media in Jerboa there's an annoying scrolling notification that appears:

How do I get rid of this?

Also how do I get rid of whatever this is in my edge tray?

Thanks in advance!

Edit: I figured out the first one, search settings for the Now Bar and disable whatever you don't want to see

Hey friends. I've recently realized that what I thought were freckles is actually melasma, and my dermatologist has prescribed me tretinoin for it. I have very pale skin, generally normal in the winter and a little oilier in the T-zone during the summer, but it can dry out really badly with things like AHA. From what I've heard, tret is pretty drying. My dermatologist recommended that I start with applying it only two nights a week, and using a pea-sized amount mixed into my moisturizer. I use the Tatcha Water Cream moisturizer, which is pretty light and has been great for me, but with tret I'm wondering if I'll need a heavier moisturizer. I'm also worried that my usual double-cleansing will worsen the dryness from tret. I double-cleanse with an oil balm to remove my mineral sunblock, then with the Tatcha Rice Wash to get rid of the sunblock & oil balm residue. But I'm thinking the rice wash might be irritating because it's got a (mild) physical exfoliant, so maybe I need to find something else for my second cleanse?

Does anyone have any experiences to share about dryness on tret, or just starting tret in general? Anything I should be aware of? I'm weirdly nervous about it!

Ladies, help me choose nail polish for a St Paddy's Day fest this weekend! I will be wearing all the tacky plastic shamrock shit the grocery store will sell me (plus green eyeshadow). Here are the contenders (from left to right):

ILNP - Reminisce
ILNP - 1UP
Cirque Colors - High Society
Cirque Colors - Mood Ring (magnetic)
Cirque Colors - Ethel
Orly - It's Not Rocket Science
Sinful Colors - Calypso

Which one should I go with?

Since the last release, I find that gifs won't play in Jerboa anymore. For example, this comment just appears as a static image for me, even when I click on it. Do you see the same behavior?

Edit: solved by user merde alors:

did you enable "auto play GIFs" in settings>look&feel ?

Then close and reopen the app and that should fix it.
