The popular party is not centrist, they once called themselves that but they've always been right wing. They might seem centrists now that the far right has gained prominence but they are not.
Once said that, yeah, the socialist party has been practising the political inbreeding for so long that I doubt there's anyone left with half a brain.
There's a period of pre-campaign were they can't run ads but they start appearing in media more than usual. Everyone knows the parties anyway, and more or less what each stands for.
From I gathered so far, lemmy is still pretty small, so unless you browse all local communities or all the instances it feels pretty limited.
I'm sure it will grow eventually.
I don't miss anything from reddit, I can still go there if I want. If anything, lemmy still feels underpopulated if I only browse the stuff I'm subscribed to.

In Spain the campaign starts 15 days before the election day and ends at the 00 hours of the day before the election. The day before the election is called "reflexion day" and is illegal to run campaign ads or have any event.
Election day is always on a Sunday.
Who is MAU?
Many years ago I realised that any believe system based on fear of something can't be trusted. If it tries to manipulate you in any way, it's just that, manipulation. Maybe that was helpful centuries ago among fearful people, I don't know.
From what was left, all that stuff didn't really matter, specially if it was true because it is some sort of wait and see and meanwhile it doesn't affect me.
There was a book I read maybe 25 years ago about this that helped a lot to shape how I see spiritualism. I could try to find it if you're interested, I don't think it would be hard to find.

There was a river rafting company not too far from where I live that switched to carrier pigeons to deliver SD cards to home base.
They had photographers stationed at a few points down river taking pictures of the clients, after each group had passed they put the SD card on one pigeon and it flew straight to base. By the time the clients were back to base the pictures were already printed and no one had to hurry back or rely on having good enough signal.
