It would be really bad for a small group of people and would save the lives of hundreds of thousands of others. Say Putin does strike Britain. A bunch of people die in the initial strike. Then Britain, America, Poland, Germany, Ukraine, France, Canada, and probably a handful of others all collectively turn the Kremlin into glass and dust in a retaliatory strike. China and North Korea both rattle their sabers about it but neither of them wants to throw down with the Allies 2.0 because it doesn't matter who you are, going to outright war with a world cooperative force is a capital-letters Bad Idea.

Otherwise Putin continues to slowly grind his way across Eurasia for the next decade while every other country's politicians hem and haw about who they want to help and how much. Meanwhile thousands of people die daily as the Russian meat wave slides its way down toward the central EU.

There's a very good reason that Putin has been performing military ops in Ukraine and only vaguely threatening everyone else that got involved. He knows that if he manages to actually draw the ire of the full Allied military might the remaining lifespan of his army and capitol will be measured in minutes.

If this were just a straight up shooting war it would have been done and dusted two years ago. Instead it's a political war, and that's stopping a bunch of politicians from actually making a move on it. Nobody wants to be the guy that started World War 3, and Putin is leveraging that to enormous effect.

This is probably the best take in this thread IMO. Yes haha Boeing, but those are two totally different departments and NASA isn't about to let something lift off with loose bolts on it. I expect this will perform without issues and the only reason it's even newsworthy right now is because Boeing has been newsworthy recently due to unrelated issues.

I don't like it very much, but I also know the OP's typical posting history (Picard Maneuver is pretty prolific on meme Lemmy) and I can say with some certainty that that ain't it, chief. At worst it's a bad take that the OP definitely didn't make themselves because I've seen this meme decades ago.

Hospitals generally won't refuse treatment to anyone as far as I know, even if you tell them straight up at check in that you won't be able to pay them. You'll still get treated, provided they have the space and staff available to treat you.

I remember trying to play Earthbound when I was younger. The story is fascinating, I really want to love the game, but the actual gameplay didn't really grab me. I remember getting to the first major town area and getting my ass beat by the gangsters or whoever that you need to fight there. Never made it past that point.

Any tips, if I wanted to pick it up again? Is this a game that expects you to grind? I found the early game to be really difficult, and I'm not usually one to be turned off by that but I really felt like I was hitting a brick wall and I think I must have missed something fundamental.

Frankly, these days? Yeah you totally can. "Hey Siri, what's 3% of 235,889?" or "Hey Siri, what's 8/37ths converted to 300ths?" will most likely just feed you a correct answer.

Unfortunately that's a minority of cases. Most bullies in my experience, and especially those bullies that are themselves using physical violence, only respond to violence.

Don't meet violence with violence as your first option. But keep it on the table. It's a viable solution if nothing else works. Some people just don't respond to anything short of getting punched in the mouth, especially kids/teens with their brain chemistry fucked six ways to Sunday by puberty.
