I've been building up my digital music library again after giving music streaming the boot. I was going to attempt to digitize my CD and vinyl collection, but I frankly don't have the time for all that. So I thought I might turn to file-sharing and download digital versions of my physical collection. I prefer FLAC or WAV if the former isn't available. Can you recommend good places to get started?

CPI taken from https://www.bls.gov/data/inflation_calculator.htm

I fudged the CPI calculation a bit because I didn't do the compounding monthly, but I ensured that based on the CPI calculator, the starting value of $11.99 -> $16.43 from January 2013 -> December 2024.

To be fair, I think CPI is somewhat bullshit, but it was the easiest .gov source for inflation data that I knew about.

Data:

Year Basic Standard with Ads Standard Premium Premium Following CPI CPI Inflation %
2011 $7.99 - - - -
2012 $7.99 - - - -
2013 $7.99 - $9.99 $11.99 $11.99 1.58%
2014 $7.99 - $10.99 $13.99 $12.19 -0.89%
2015 $7.99 - $11.99 $14.99 $12.09 1.37%
2016 $7.99 - $11.99 $14.99 $12.26 2.50%
2017 $7.99 - $12.99 $15.99 $12.57 2.07%
2018 $7.99 - $12.99 $15.99 $12.84 1.55%
2019 $8.99 - $13.99 $16.99 $13.05 2.49%
2020 $8.99 - $14.99 $18.99 $13.38 1.40%
2021 $8.99 - $14.99 $18.99 $13.58 7.48%
2022 $9.99 - $15.49 $19.99 $14.60 6.41%
2023 Phased Out $6.99 $15.49 $19.99 $15.55 3.09%
2024 $6.99 $15.49 $22.99 $16.04 2.33%
2025 $7.99 $17.99 $24.99 $16.43 -

edit: fixed a calculation mistake (accidentally was using 2012->2025 inflation not 2013->2025) edit 2: zeroed y axis

I heard that gog-games(dot)to went private (or invite only) for a while some years back but I recently found out that they came back after some time. Does anyone know if they are still as good as they were? I only heard that they were trustworthy before and I can't seem to find any recent post that says otherwise. Thanks for the help!

God of war III (USA) (1.00) (BCUS98111) is not working on RPCS3. While the EU version works just fine.

(AFAIK, EU version is censored lot of scences, which I don't want)

I downloaded USA iso from Redump (myrient). I downloaded EU version from Gnarly Repacks.

I also updated the game to 1.03, still stops at cache compilation.

Can somebody help?

I can provide additional info if wanted and links if allowed.

1fichier experience (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

Anyone here subscribe to 1ficher who could share their experience with them? I've been considering subscribing to them for a while now. I've seen countless files that have remained available on 1fichier where other hosts had removed them. I feel like they could be my go to file host to download from when available if they're worth giving money to.

Although a computer is better, there might be great potential for smartphones to participate in the swarm. But there seems to be some complications.

Someone did make a torrent client for iOS 16+ devices named 'iTorrent' but there is no mention of I2P.

There is this technology to replace the physical boards on the pitch by customized ones by processing the video, so I wondered if there is some filter available to block those boards altogether and replace them for a black board?

I'm sure I'm not the only one annoyed by those two-layered boards that are becoming the norm, and those ads are getting more invasive everyday.

I would be willing to go through the trouble of watching the videos with a few extra seconds of lag if that means getting rid of those ads.

I have a feeling it must exist. Some kind of search-engine that's got all the major trackers right there for you.

Not that many people use email much anymore, but as you often need an email address to sign up for other shit... anyway, I need a better option than gmail, I'm sure you can appreciate why. Email is so old school at this point that most of the time I don't even think about it anymore.

Anyway, I need some email options that aren't gmail or otherwise attached to a billionaire. I'm not really interested in non-email methods of communication, I'm specifically asking about email.

Thanks in advance.

I'm spinning up a new seedbox and wanted to know what is everyone using nowadays? I was using deluge via the thick client and rutorrent previously. Are they still king? edit: I should have also mentioned that I plan on running this server headless so I will need to be able to access it via a thin client or a web browser

I wanted to update on the situation. I posted a few days ago about a detection for malware on a software download of Affinity Photo 2. https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/35380042

After some searching, I found a repack on LRepacks. And I wanted to share something. The repack I found on LRepacks only had about 3 detections on VirusTotal, which is pretty much expected honestly.

I wanted to compare this to the downloaded file I tried from a site listed as Download93 on the megathread, I didn't mention this on the previous post because I didn't feel it was necessary.

I suspect something might be wrong with that site.

  • This file got about 30 something detections flagging it as malware. I ended up not running it (thankfully). And while I have no means to try it (as VMs are not working on my pc for some reason), I highly suspect of it being malware.

  • Didn't notice this when I was downloading, but the Download93 link now redirects to "4download[dot]net". Which just throws me off now that I see it.

Has someone else noticed this going on in this website? Again, I have no means right now of proving it's malware. But I wanted to see if somebody else can confirm is something is wrong with that site. So that it can be taken down from the megathread if necessary.

Meta is accused of seeding the pirated material that the company obtained from LibGen to train its AI models.

I was wondering if there are any good collection's of books available for torrent. Like maybe classics, or top 1,000 sci-fi, etc. Does that exist?

170

Sorry if its not the right place to post, i just dont know where else to ask. I am searching for a book Discover what you are best at. I had already looked through libgen, flibusta, z-lib. I had also went through megathread, but to my knowledge these sites are the best bets to find any book. Is there anywhere else i can look for?

Of course, I'm not in favor of this "AI slop" that we're having in this century (although I admit that it has some good legitimate uses but greed always speaks louder) but I wonder if it will suffer some kind of piracy, if it is already suffering or people simple are not interested in "pirated AI"

Anyone got a magnet link ?

There is usually one up by now but I'm coming up short now

Italy's 'Piracy Shield', despite blocking thousands of illegal streaming sites, has failed boost viewership for legal services like DAZN.

I found out JSON could work as a small local database, thinking of storing records of at least 1135 cars, televisions and handbags, while allowing downloads through magnet links.

I would like to see if there are projects that have already done this or if a standard database with SQL and PHP is better.
