there was an artist in gothenburg (kapten röd) who did a show called "the hundred crown bill" (Hundralappen), where all tickets only cost the equivalent of 10€ to give anyone a chance to attend a show.

He's such a fucking awesome dude, love and good vibes pours out of him like a fountain.

[–] rayquetzalcoatl@lemmy.world 1 points 12 hours ago

I don't know how this guy got famous, and I don't know what he does or who he is, but every single time I hear about him it's negative. Who is watching this guy? Why?

[–] glimse@lemmy.world 112 points 1 week ago (4 children)

All you need to know is that XQC thinks Drake is better than Kendrick. And that XQC looks down on anyone who cares about lyrics

[–] ElectroLisa@piefed.blahaj.zone 159 points 1 week ago (2 children)

xQc got disqualified from an overwatch tournament for homophobia and attended a trump rally

[–] Rhynoplaz@lemmy.world 102 points 1 week ago (10 children)

Now THAT is all I need to know.

OK. I cannot decipher from those 3 pixels how cheap those tickets allegedly are.

Yeah, it’s easy to miss because the VIP packages are listed there for $1k+

xQc truly is one of the dumbest streamers around, and that's a race to the bottom.

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Who's this asshole and why should I care what he thinks?

[–] misterdoctor@lemmy.world 36 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He’s a streamer named xqc and you shouldn’t

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago (3 children)

How do these fuckwits become so famous with toxic bullshit. Does he actually make a living with his stream?

[–] underscores@lemmy.zip 17 points 1 week ago

it's because he's so fucking stupid that some people think it's funny, the odd side-effect effect is that even stupid people think that his popularity is because of something else

so you get this weird community of hate watchers and fans? following the popular streamer and wanting attention/ being parasocial

he's extremely obnoxious but it is my impression that being obnoxious annoying and loud is ultimately the winning strategy for live streaming

[–] msage@programming.dev 5 points 1 week ago (3 children)

You know, I tried streaming for a bit... but I'm boring. I hate saying dumb shit, I hate reacting in any significant way, and if I get too excited, I start mumbling and stop pronouncing.

So while I hate such characters, I don't find it that strange.

I think he’s like a multimillionaire, honestly.

Jesus are we charging by the pixel now?

[–] OutlierBlue@lemmy.ca 39 points 1 week ago

I wish they sold pixels at affordable prices too.

A guy of debatable intellect who plays video games for money, and a guy who performs poetry of debatable quality to music.

Anything is debatable if you're obtuse enough.

Between the low pixels and the format, I have basically no idea what is going on here.

How the fuck are $1000 tickets afforable? Am I missing something?

[–] Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

To me the 5 pixels appear as if they were 300CAD for 2 seats.

[–] iamericandre@lemmy.world 25 points 1 week ago

I’ve only heard of one of these guys and it’s not the one being an asshole

[–] Kissaki@feddit.org 25 points 1 week ago (4 children)

This post is more [mildly] infuriating than what it describes.

From the awful image quality to the three-part-stitched image to the specific claim without no source context or description - this feels like ragebait which may be misinformation or misrepresented or who knows what.

[–] InFerNo@lemmy.ml 6 points 1 week ago

And useless partial timestamp covering the actual price it tries to talk about

[–] MotoAsh@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

xqc has definitely said equally unhinged and disconnected BS on many occasions. I'd definitely argue he does not deserve the benefit of the doubt here.

Reaction streamer cunt know for flexing his wealth in the most obnoxious ways possible thinks Kendrick Lamar is funny for selling affordable tickets to his fans because "lol, poor people".

to be fair, with the taylor swift eras tour what happened was that taylor swift sold the tickets very cheaply but scalpers scalped it to hell and beyond, resulting in taylor swift losing out on a lot of money and scalpers having massive wins.

[–] CanadaPlus@lemmy.sdf.org 5 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I wonder why artists even bother at this point. Doesn't LiveNation offer some way they can sell tickets at their actual value without people knowing? (It itself is kind of a monopoly, but that's another issue)
