I wonder how'd they react if somebody posted this in the Star Trek memes community?

[–] Lumidaub@feddit.org 24 points 2 months ago (1 children)

With mild confusion as to the relevance.

No, really, I'm being mildly confused as to the relevance over here and I'd be eternally grateful for some help.

[–] finitebanjo@lemmy.world 13 points 2 months ago (1 children)

The original meme is funny because it quotes all the wrong references for the media portrayed.

If you reposted it to a community for media which isn't even referenced, it adds yet another wrong onto the pile of wrongs.

... Oooh. Yeah, that's too clever for me.

Disney owns Narnia, Star Wars, Doctor Who and Marvel...

So if they pair up with WB or acquire Potter/LOTR, we could make this Infinite Crisis happen!

Disney owns Doctor Who?

Edit: apparently they bought international distribution rights to it in 2022

[–] TheGrandNagus@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

The BBC owns Doctor Who.

[–] teft@lemmy.world 16 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Don’t worry. Rand Al Thor will stop them.

Aided by an Excalibur-wielding Picard.

[–] sundrei@lemmy.sdf.org 8 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Could be dangerous. Better bring along The Luggage.

[–] CheeryLBottom@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

That's more than fair

[–] Comment105@lemm.ee 3 points 2 months ago

That's unreasonable.

The sword's power makes you only see four lights.

Aww man, is this the one where Spock dies?

[–] Comment105@lemm.ee 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Too much skooma, I'm afraid. Those goddamn daleks are a menace.

[–] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

Sorry, but tbh you know what's going to happen the moment he leaves the bridge to go make more lembas bread... by himself.

[–] SubArcticTundra@lemmy.ml 10 points 2 months ago (1 children)

This would be the final film that would ever have to be produced.

[–] Knock_Knock_Lemmy_In@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

Lego batman had already gotten very close.

"The Great Emission of Saint Jiub."

I've seen this a few times too often...

[–] massive_bereavement@fedia.io 4 points 2 months ago

I measure the pass of time by looking at this meme.

I now know I need to buy something for my sibling, thanks.

Is there a name for this kind of joke? I remember seeing it in like 2002 with a picard + firefly + something else mashup. It's kind of funny, but extra formulaic even as memes go. Reminds me of my dad trying to talk about media, so maybe it's like some sort of mutant dad joke.

[–] Aussiemandeus@aussie.zone 2 points 2 months ago

Borramire would have done better

[–] TransfemGhostface@lemmy.nz 0 points 2 months ago (1 children)
