For the most part yes. But when I didn't have much money cars were like my enemy.

I don't mean the people at the protest. Im fairly certain you know what I mean.

I signed up with a person there to get text alerts about the next meet up. Never got a text.

Hopefully with a metal back that doesn't hurt all the time.

The competition aspect makes alot of sense. Especially when I consider both the preparation and execution go into it. I think if I was the builder I'd HAVE to be the driver/racer too though.

I do enjoy going to car shows actually. I can agree that its usually more impressive to see something built up than something expensive from the dealer. I guess I recognize its a hobby as any other, just most curious about the draw to that specific hobby. Good response!

Yeah, thats the main understanding I have of it. Just seems like an odd way to express your personality.

That's true, both can be used as status symbols. At least with a watch, once you buy it, mission complete. No need to go throwing new gears in it to make it tick louder.

I'd be careful throwing diagnostics around. Last thing you want is the individual doing some internet doctoring. Could lead to them excusing their behaviors due to self diagnosed nonsense or self medicating based on an uneducated hunch. Not saying you sound wrong necessarily, just dont wanna add fuel to the fire. The person in question should ABSOLUTELY seek professional help and ask these questions as soon as possible.

I recognize appreciating cool machines, I really do. I've just never been able to wrap my head around being a car guy. Spending huge chunks of change on a car, consistently modifying it, watching car shows all the time. I just dont get it. What's the big draw for you?

Surely these cuts mean our taxes will drop dramatically.... right....

No that's extremely not normal. I'd also heavily question someone like this. Mostly how they genuinely feel about their romantic partner. Typically a romantic partnership is built on a type of friendship. It sounds like the person doesn't understand platonic relationships. I'm extremely skeptical they would be able to have healthy romantic relationships without that understanding.

I primarily mean video games. However, if you've played some kind of interesting table top or card game I'd like to hear about that too! I've been replaying the Witcher 3 lately.

So, I've given several two week notices throughout my career. Unfortunately, I recently had to give one over the phone instead of in person. I only report to one guy and he was on vacation. I could have just given it to HR but that would have felt scummy. I called him and gave him my notice then sent him a letter of resignation. Feels bad man. Anyone else ever have to give a two week notice in an awkward/unfortunate way?

I typically spend the week thinking about what I'll make for main meals and then execute it all on one day. I make 8 full meals then 5 overnight chia oats and 3-5 portions of whatever meat was on sale at the store. It typically takes a few hours on my last day off any week (work a really weird schedule). I supplement any other cooking/more oats as the week progresses.

Seems like hard-core hate for anyone religious is fine in many circles. Is there a point where it becomes as problematic as other forms of bigotry? Not any specific religion necessarily just the disdain for the religious in general.

I guess everyone who leaves their house daily will have some kind of list. Mine~ Car keys, Wallet, Phone, Headphones, Leatherman multitool, Generally positive attitude

I'm a big UFC fan so Saudi Arabia being involved in my media is nothing new. That said, it seems fairly hypocritical for alot of the outspoken comics to participate. Opinions?

As the title says. I believe Reddit has been using shadow bans to quiet dissenting opinions that aren't inherently breaking TOS.
