Damn, that's a depressing Wikipedia article:
It is estimated that around 375,000 great hammerhead sharks alone are traded per year which is equivalent to 21,000 metric tons of biomass. However, most sharks that are caught are only used for their fins and then discarded. The meat of hammerheads is generally unwanted.
#3 is the key I think. Valve's business model is figuring out what their customers want and then providing it to them. Amazon's model is to capture enough market share so they can start the enshitification process.
Even moreso, I think they're worried this will normalize violence against their class, so they want to make an example of him. One Luigi can be imprisoned or executed; a thousand Luigis is a bigger problem.
I'd be more surprised if there hadn't been a shooting.
I don't know where this particular graph came from, but Richard Dawkins has a whole chapter about strategies for the prisoner's dilemma in his book "The Selfish Gene".
A 3.5mm-to-Bluetooth adapter that can do simultaneous headphones + mic. I have a device with no Bluetooth, only a 3.5mm TRRS jack (headphones+mic). I want to connect it to a wireless Bluetooth headset but the only adapters I can find won't do both at the same time, only one or the other.
The shotgun pays for itself after only 3 or 4 liquor store hold-ups.
And if they gain a monopoly, they're able to separate their priorities from those of their users. That's when the enshitification begins.
JD shouldn't be in this picture. He already served his purpose in getting Trump elected; they don't need him anymore.
