For what it's worth, I am very appreciative of you making me aware of Knockout as an alternative. 🤗

Anything that fits into ideological screeching.

There are plenty of topics out there that are political in nature that I do not mind, but I do mind the combative, aggressive, reductive and unintelligent discourse that has become the norm online. To me it is not actual discussion nor is it people wishing for a better world. It is just angry people screeching into the void and attacking anyone who disagrees with them and calling them whatever slur they can come up with.

I find it childish, unproductive and stupid and I don't want to see or hear it. If I wanted to rot my brain I could just drill a hole in my skull and pour some feces in there. It's the same effect that political screeching has.

I'll try and check it out when I have the time to dive in. I'm honestly leaning more and one toward just cutting the chord and not using the internet for anything other than work related stuff and watching youtube on the DuckDuckGo player. The current state of the internet is for bots and hysterical political people and I'm honestly over it at this point. Even on this knockout place from the brief glance I had, it also looked like a very political place so eh.

Preach, my friend. It is actually the main reason I'm considering deleting my profile because part of the reason I left mainstream social media was to get away from politics and ideological lunatics, but this platform is fucking full of both. Is there anywhere on the internet where people are just focusing on hobbies and interests that aren't mired in hatred and aggression?

Seems like Metal Gear Solid is the gamer version of Disney's Snow White, because that girl motivated me so much to clean my room when I was a kid. Her and Mary Poppins. And so some extent, Pippi Longstocking too.

It was so goofy seeing them trying to pretend to be afraid of this bs, like it was some evil demonic shit.

As someone who was deep into metal in the 2000s and was exposed to Marilyn Manson, Cradle of Filth and Dir En Grey, it really was the most pathetic display of outrage ever because Sam Smith is vanilla af. If these puritan right wingers want something to clutch their pearls at, then go watch the 20 something year old music video of Dir En Grey's Obscure. Uncensored.

Så bliver det ikke meget mere slimet. Det er en billig omgang at vifte med sine "værdier" når det er noget man aktivt tørrer af på andre samt ikke har tænkt sig selv at investere i andet end et par plakater rundt omkring.

Jeg kan stadig huske at en eller anden karl smart på reddit snakkede om at alle os, der boycottede Meta i januar, ville komme krybende tilbage dertil efter en uge eller fjorten dage. Der er snart gået et halvt år for mit vedkommende og jeg venter stadig på at få spontan fomo ud af det blå. Måske er jeg bare defekt.
