Hatte mal mitten in der Stadt einen DSL Vertrag über 250 MBits abgeschlossen, kamen aber nur 16 raus, da mir wohl nur so viel von der Telekom zugewiesen wurde und sich das auch nicht ändern ließ.

Bin dann zu (damals noch) Unitymedia. Habe eine günstigere 1GBit Leitung bekommen und musste dafür in der Übergangszeit nichtmal was bezahlen. Vodafone ist leider Schmutz, aber Kabelinternet/DOCSIS ist schon was feines.

Klingt für mich tatsächlich garnicht nach GrapheneOS. Es gibt ja schon lange so exotische ROMs wo man in der Taschenrechner App bestimmte Zahlenkombinationen eingeben muss um aus dem "Geistermodus" bspw. an die echten Messenger zu kommen. Und wenn für Zivilisten ein Cellbrite potentiell nicht ins Handy kommt ist das m.M.n. kein "Geister-Betriebssystem" sondern etwas das einem ein Stück Normalität zurückgibt. Was die Staatsanwaltschaft im Zweifelsfall daraus macht sei mal dahingestellt.

I actually plan on putting hardware related stuff on an extra pi since I only run a single proxmox node right now. Would be home assistant and nut tools for the ups but I might put pihole and unbound on that as well.

I am worried about the performance though because of home assistant. And it is pretty comfortable to have everything on one host that is far from being used to capacity anyway.

Without support from the vendor they don't. Mobile computing is so locked down right now that it might be possible that not even the vendor can repair a bricked phone tbh.

Compare it to a broken BIOS on a PC. You can basically throw out your motherboard if you fail while updating it. Some devices have hardware pins used only for provisioning and debugging (JTAG) but they would have to be reverse engineered first.

Didn't know they removed the toggle. This supports the hypothesis that they plan to remove every physical button and connector / port (which they can't, at least for the EU version).

Maybe they recognized that most people just leave their phone on silent forever.

Depending on the model you might find some custom built ROM on e.g. XDADevelopers, but be careful not to brick your device.
