News and Discussions about Reddit

Welcome to !reddit. This is a community for all news and discussions about Reddit.

The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:

Rules

Rule 1- No brigading.

**You may not encourage brigading any communities or subreddits in any way. **

YSKs are about self-improvement on how to do things.

Rule 2- No illegal or NSFW or gore content.

**No illegal or NSFW or gore content. **

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-Reddit posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.

If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.

Speedrunning a permaban on my 15 year old account. How many days do you think it will take?

If you wanna do it fast, just speak ill of fascists. Worked for me.

[–] Schmuppes@lemmy.today 1 points 35 minutes ago

Now I feel challenged to do the same and have my inactive account banned.

[–] undeffeined@lemmy.ml 12 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

Whatever their goal is, one result is apparent: less voicing of opposite views to the status quo on their website.

[–] Scrollone@feddit.it 13 points 5 hours ago (3 children)

Don't get permabanned! Sell your precious account first ;) it will be used to spam on Reddit and you'll get some money, it's a win-win situation!

[–] ericatty@infosec.pub 1 points 1 minute ago

Yes, please tell us where we need to not go to avoid accidentally selling our reddit accounts

[–] DoubleSpace@lemm.ee 9 points 4 hours ago (1 children)
[–] Valmond@lemmy.world 3 points 3 hours ago

The real questions here!

[–] SwordOfOtto@lemmy.world 8 points 4 hours ago

Who that fuck buys reddit accounts? And where to sell them? ( I certainly would not do that ...)

Hahahahahahahhahahaha this is wild. It’s so blatant. It’s just so unrepentantly, obviously, nakedly blatant. Jesus fuck.

Like im glad you guys are all getting out and finding us and other similar communities, but like… the societal and systemic implications of them going so hard on this on reddit makes me shudder to consider how insane moderation must be getting on normie social networks, which have been traditionally WILDLY awful on that point even before we decided to break fascist. This is them actively and aggressively suppressing free speech. Mahmoud Khalil was/is another instance of that. This is us not keeping the republic.

[–] RizzoTheSmall@lemm.ee 3 points 4 hours ago

Man am I glad i left that honey-boo-boo-moderated shit show

[–] pineapplelover@lemm.ee 6 points 5 hours ago

Luigi? You mean green mario?

ATTENTION CITIZEN:

YOU ARE IN VIOLATION OF THE LAW.

OFFENSE: Inciting subversion of state power

[–] dzso@lemmy.world 19 points 10 hours ago

Talk about the thought police! I saw it coming for awhile, but past me from a decade ago is shocked that Reddit has come to this.

[–] Wooki@lemmy.world 17 points 12 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago) (3 children)

Migrate your posts to lemmy first (some of the lemmy apps can do this in bulk). Then Edit your old posts and comments, slowly, then delete them slowly. It's your content not Reddits.

By doing this it devalues Reddit in the process as it becomes void of human content only left with AI slop. They certainly dont value the content creators which made Reddit so why should you.

[–] bignate31@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago

Can someone create a guide with this? Best tools, what to do if the comment thread isn't also on Lemmy, how to change your Reddit comments to gibberish, etc

Or does this guide already exist? (Should be included on the welcome letter to Lemmy if so)

[–] Fuhgeddaboutit@sopuli.xyz 2 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Why edit and delete slowly?

[–] Wooki@lemmy.world 4 points 3 hours ago (1 children)
[–] Fuhgeddaboutit@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 hour ago

How slowly are we talking about?

[–] Trihilis@ani.social 1 points 5 hours ago

I made the mistake of not doing this. I was so fed up with reddit that I had to get off there ASAP.

[–] whaleiam@lemm.ee 10 points 11 hours ago

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/reddit-comment-replacer/ I just found this. Replaces all your comments. Easy peasy.

[–] KnowledgeableNip@sh.itjust.works 173 points 20 hours ago (3 children)

Man isn't even convicted yet and his name is taboo.

The rich are scared. Good. They should be.

[–] Scrollone@feddit.it 5 points 5 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago)

They can be scared, but unless ten, fifty, or one hundred green Mario brothers appear nothing will change.

[–] goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org 9 points 12 hours ago

Reddit is more okay with people where we have indisputable video of them killing someone else in cold blood than someone who police just say trust us bro he did it.

Amazing how the admins react to things

[–] courageousstep@lemm.ee 67 points 20 hours ago

That’s exactly what we need to take from this. Not that money is in control and that’s why they’re cracking down, but that they’re cracking down because they’re scared.

[–] ilinamorato@lemmy.world 127 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

"While you didn't post the rule-breaking content, reading content that breaks the rules is also considered a violation."

"While you didn't post the rule-breaking content, thinking about breaking the law is also considered a violation."

"While you didn't post the rule-breaking content, protesting human rights violations is also considered a violation."

"While you didn't post the rule-breaking content, being an unapproved minority is also considered a violation."

"While you didn't post the rule-breaking content, not drinking enough verification cans is also considered a violation."

They're scared. Spez knows his neck is on the line in a more literal fashion than ever.

[–] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 8 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

While you didn’t post the rule-breaking content, not buying a Tesla is also considered a violation.

Ahhhhhhhhh now I see what the enforcement angle is on orangeboi declaring that an “illegal boycott” (a term that makes roughly as much sense as “aerodynamic bedsheet”)

[–] tektite@slrpnk.net 2 points 3 hours ago

(a term that makes roughly as much sense as “aerodynamic bedsheet”)

What other kind of sheets would you get for a racecar bed?

[–] RagingRobot@lemmy.world 50 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

So they are dictating the things we can like now? Lol what a shit site that has become. Such a shame. I love it here though so I guess it all worked out

Can anyone suggest how to get banned with my dormant reddit account? I wanna post something about Luigi

Can you post about "eating the poor"? I'm interested to see if it's considered violent or nor.

[–] misteloct@lemmy.world 11 points 14 hours ago (5 children)

Go to the Luigi subreddit and upvote everything there if you're really in a hurry.

[–] jagged_circle@feddit.nl 4 points 6 hours ago

I think posting is faster

All the thousands of mine say

"Reddit has become a very large cesspool of poison, supporting genocide (Israel & Russia) and suppressing basic human rights. The admins have gone apeshit banning people for any reason, mentioning "luigi", even in a Nintendo context.

FUCK REDDIT and IT'S ADMINS.

FUCK RACIST, RAPIST, TRUMP

FUCK NAZI ELON MUSK

FUCK BILLIONAIRES/OLIGARCHS, THEY SHOULD ALL BE LUIGI'D.

FUCK EVERYONE ON THE EPSTEIN LIST, DIE IN A FIRE.

FREE PALESTINE, SUPPORT UKRAINE. BE HUMAN.

DELETE or BAN this account, I DON'T GIVE A SHIT. PEOPLE OVER PROFIT."

Just got off a 3 day ban, waiting on permanan

They couldn't make everyone hate him, so now they're trying to make everyone forget about him.

[–] Scrollone@feddit.it 2 points 4 hours ago

How could people forget the first American hero in a long time?

We need more of him, if any.
