I have the feeling that people in the Threadyverse are on average younger than on Mastodon.

My assumption is:

  • Mastodon: 30 - 45
  • Lemmy, /kbin: 25 - 40

There are polls like that on Mastodon whichvpoint to that, but I haven't seen any on the Threadyverse.

Sorry, didn't come to the fediverse to have my data harvested. :^)

Also the fact they called it 'threadyverse' instead of fediverse, makes this post appear even more nefarious.

Nice try zuck. Lol

[–] WalrusDragonOnABike@kbin.social 4 points 2 years ago

Fediverse includes both twitter-likes and reddit-likes. Pretty sure they were just trying to distinguish between the two.

The inability to mass delete or truly nuke an account has made me a lot more conscious of what I am sharing.

[–] DoucheAsaurus@kbin.social 14 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Old enough to know better than to reveal personal info on the internet. Actually that might be specific enough for you to guess lol.

[–] 0xSim@fedia.io 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

ah so you're (at least) 35

Plus or minus a century is eerily close on the timescale of the universe :P

[–] Aesthesiaphilia@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

Which is why this question is useless, only gen z and boomers will answer. Millenials and Gen X actually care about privacy because we saw the internet when it still existed.

Old enough to know that the real way to ask this question is “asl?”

[–] Candelestine@lemmy.world 9 points 2 years ago

I've used this pretty recognizable name for too long to be willing to drop such easy-to-use details, someone who tries to dox me has to at least work for it. But I'm another middle aged internet geek.

[–] UziBobuzi@kbin.social 6 points 2 years ago

I'm on Mastodon, Lemmy and kbin and I'm 58.

Don't want to give out my exact age, but old enough where the internet would scream at you when you connected to it, and you'd keep your highschool homework on a floppy disk.

[–] Izzgo@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

So, about half my age.

You had computers in school?

I use Mastodon and Lemmy, I am 35🌞

[–] Ignacio@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

35, and I'm on Mastodon, Lemmy (two instances), Kbin, PeerTube, Pixelfed and Funkwhale.

Just turned forty, don't work in tech. Yeah, I know I'm the weirdo here.

Though it does seem so far like lemmings act less teenaged than redditors.

Curious why you would think that users on the Twitter-like (microblog) platform are older than those on the Reddit-like (link aggregator) platform. I've always associated microblogging with a younger mindset.
