This is the most reasonable reaction I've ever read. I shall adopt this reaction.

People are joking now, but the long term goal of Neoliberals will be states being auctioned off to the highest bidder.

First it will just be sponsorship with the name. Then it will be a mandatory consultation for every law in the making. Then it will be a right to veto a number of laws every year. Then it will be the right to approve or reject candidates in every election held in the state.

we're in a 'cyberpunk dystopia' without the punk..
..and the cyber...

fuck.

I don’t necessarily like how the community is run on lemmy, so I won’t link it, but it’s apt to say, this is a boring dystopia.

Cyberpunk is when New Text Document

[–] Resonosity@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 week ago

I love this meme

[–] Sanctus@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Wdym? The President jacked billions of dollars with a crypto rugpull the first day of his presidency. It totally is a cyberpunk dystopia. We even have body mods.

[–] knightly@pawb.social 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You may have misinterpreted the meaning of the meme, 'cuz you're preaching to the choir.

I mean, I'm trans and I used to have a magnetic sensory implant. All I need to fit the stereotypical mode is a cyberdeck and some neon hair dye.

All that's missing for the true dystopia was a government that's totally powerless to resist corporate predation and we've got that now.

I think I responded to the wrong comment? Idk

[–] 21Cabbage@lemmynsfw.com 10 points 1 week ago

Eh, I'll let some PR intern talk shit.

Florida is America’s wang. You know it, I know it, and the American people know it.

[–] w3dd1e@lemm.ee 63 points 1 week ago

Nah, MoonPieTown is America’s wang.

[–] over_clox@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Fun fact: Florida used to be longer. Go ahead, look up the maps from the 1800s...

[–] coaxil@lemm.ee 17 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You mean moonpietown used to be longer?

[–] over_clox@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

Yes, Moonpietown used to be longer, until they cut their nuts off and donated them to Mississippi and Alabama.

From now on, America means everything from the continents except the USA. Which is now called the Boo S A

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

No it's not. It's the butthole. There's nothing but shit in it!

Washington DC is the wang. Thats where America fucks everyone from.

[–] taladar@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 week ago

So to explain the shape it is America's prolapsed colon?

[–] djsoren19@lemmy.blahaj.zone 34 points 1 week ago (2 children)

It's honestly so wild to live in a post-meaning world. Words are just frivolous, how they're used so vague and broad, that we no longer have a shared, fact-based reality. We live in a mad, mad world.

[–] Matombo@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

Thats what a commi fashist antifashist woke libtard hatespeech retard untrustworthy government imigrant workless loafer that steals our jobs would say.

[–] AceFuzzLord@lemm.ee 32 points 1 week ago (1 children)

If we're just renaming things, I wanna rename Mar-a-lago to "Nuclear Waste Dump Site #1".

[–] Dkarma@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

Already a huge toxic threat there so the name is apt

[–] ThanksObama@sh.itjust.works 28 points 1 week ago

In tonights top headline, MoonPieTown man gets eaten by alligator while trying to retrieve dropped bath salts.....

[–] cm0002@lemmy.world 28 points 1 week ago (1 children)

We should have listened to Bugs all those years ago and just cut Florida off the US

yeah you can't satirize the republicans. they're more ridiculous than whatever funny skit you can come up with.

that's partly why people didn't like Don't Look Up that much. it was supposed to be a ridiculous caricature of the way people tend to avoid uncomfortable truths like climate change. ended up being so similar to the real thing people thought it was too on the nose and obvious. the real world caught up and surpassed the satire.

[–] rickyrigatoni@lemm.ee 10 points 1 week ago (2 children)

This is false advertising. Moon pies are objectively disgusting, not delicious.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You don't like the taste of cardboard, sugar, and a veneer of "chocolate?"

[–] dream_weasel@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 week ago

Bro? Cardboard?

The rest of us work for a living: paper-based board product.

[–] ZoopZeZoop@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

This is how I feel about them--most of the time. Every once in a while I get an itch and really enjoy them. I'm feeling itchy.

That's the marketing doing it's work

[–] roofTophopper@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

While we're speaking of moons, can we rename the moo? I can see it from America, so technically it's ours to name.

Edit: I suppose we can rename Mom too.

Yes, we can all see your mom, even though we wish we couldn't.

[–] HEXN3T@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 week ago

And that's how I became the MoonPieIngester
