Five Guys is the only one I would be okay with. McDonalds is probably the worse, followed by wendys being 2nd worst. BurgerKing is... um... its like good for like your first try, then subsequent times it taste worse and worse each time you got there.
I don't eat a lot of burgers so I probably don't know what a "good" burger taste like, I grew up in an Asian household so I don't exactly eat a lot of "western" food for the most of my life (like... relatively speaking, in comparison to the rest of the US).
West coast dude that has visited all over the US. I’ve had BK/McD’s, Whataburger, Jack in the box, In-N-Out, Carl’s Jr, Smashburger, Sonic, Shake Shack, White Castle, Five Guys, A&W, and maybe a couple more I’ve forgotten. Best for me, hands down:
Culver’s butter burger with cheese and everything on it.
Culver’s is the answer.
Only one I can eat, impossible whopper. I wish they would go all in and use the superior black bean burger instead tho
When McDonald's gets an equivalent, they're going to make so much money off of me
Double teen burger from A&W.
Has enough meat with the double patty, and has all the toppings like onion, pickle, tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, etc.
You have to specify A&W Canada. The US doesn't have Teen burgers and they're generally inferior.
My current favorite one is a "local" (it's available nationwide though) one called Vicio, which means addiction in Spanish, I tried them because they opened a store near me and had a sign saying "We're called Vicio, and we cook burgers, you can imagine the rest" which I thought was pretentious, and decided to test them, but they're really good burgers.
Before those I would have said my favorite was Five Guys ones, still do but haven't had them in a while. And before those I used to like a local gourmet burger place back in Brazil.
None of them? I find it’s worth the extra $2 to go somewhere local or “fast casual”. Places like McDonalds , Wendy’s, and Burger King are overpriced garbage these days.
Schoops , Whataburger, Culvers
My options are severely limited since I don’t eat meat, but The Habit makes a really nice veggie burger. They have one of the fake meat burger brands as well, but those honestly make me gag a little with how greasy they are.
I've had impossible burgers and they're surprisingly good but so damn expensive
Tasty Burger's Big Tasty.
Goodtimes, haven't had one since I was in Colorado.
Sweden has a hamburger chain named 'Mr York' and they are amazing!
It sadly no longer exists.
Back in the day there was a restaurant called Lick’s in Toronto. They had an assembly line of people with loud 50s music and them singing whist they assembled your order. It was so much fun.
They had burgers that were actually burgers compared to any other chain. You could actually taste the meat! My favourite side was called tater’s and cream. Fries topped with yummy white sauce that was slightly sweet but creamy with real bacon bits smothered on top with chives. They also had an amazing turkey burger.
They had other unique items on the menu but I forget them.
The only fast food burgers I eat happen to be White Castle single cheeseburger.
How many in 1 sitting?
Just two.
Respectable, but you could do better
There's a small chain in Wichita Kansas called Bionic Burger. The double with cheese and fried onions is the most reliable way to introduce someone to that true Americana flavor. Side of fries and a cherry malt, it's not something you should eat but damned if you don't enjoy every second of it.
Cheeseburgers, close second hamburger
The kebab shop down the road makes burgers too and they're better than everything I've had from one of the large chains while still distinctly feeling like junk food.
In n out dbl dbl
Assuming the question means fast food chain
Second is dbl cheeseburger from McD, hate me if you need to
There's something about McDonald's paper thin patties, greasy buns, and rehydrated onions that really hits the spot
Can’t tell if that’s sarcasm but you actually nailed it… it’s nostalgia food for me, I used to eat these as a kid
Oh I am being very genuine. I used to look forward to night classes in uni because I would ritualistically get 2 Mcdoubles dressed like macs on the way home.
Thank god someone else gets it. My wife doesn’t, but she supports me lol. There are definitely better burgers out there but the McD dbl cheese will always have a place in my heart (and tummy)
I don't remember the last time I had a fast food burger. And I would like to keep it that way. Thank you.
Best I've cooked: Oklahoma onion burgers
Best I've bought: green chilli burger from Meat Liquor Covent Garden though sadly they don't seem to have that location any more and the green chilli burger is no longer on their menu!
I've always preferred smashing my burgers over a bed of onions and today I learned it has a name
They're so good, so flavourful. Love them.
